PvP Gankers in Fleetcomm at Beagle Point

You respawn at the last station where you docked. Could be back in the bubble for some. And you lose any un-sold exploration data/discoveries.

Z...
So one important strategy would be to dock every couple hundred light years, sell data, and anchor the work you've put into your journey.
That is something I'll be sure to do if ever I head out that way.

I've given up on the countless threads about this topic. FDev can simply sort ganking (which is not legit PvP)but they won't.

In open is a completely different story, all goes there.

Nipped through Ross 85 yesterday and found a wing of 3 Anacondas and totally obliterated me in my new Python. Just watch out as I went back in an Eagle this morning and they were there again... Definitely in UK so be careful people.

Just keep flying!

Anyhoo, let's say I travel all the way out to Bagel Point (1) and 10 minutes after entering the system I get ganked by a Fleetcom buddy.
Where do I respawn? If within 100ly of Bagel Point I see no real issues here. If that is the case, getting ganked way out there is no different than getting ganked in Eravate.

You don't respawn at all.

Step 1: You don't klick "rebuy".
Step 2: You close your client.
Step 3: You write a support ticket stating that you were attacked by a player in a PvE-only PG.
Step 4: Your ship gets restored with all exploration data intact in the system it was destroyed in. Done.

What these ganks are doing is simply create work for FDev support until we get better PvE controls for the private groups.

Maybe you could teach FDev how to tell the difference between legit PvP and ganking?
Let's put a scenario on the table and you teach us all how it is done:

Commander A buys a PvP game, logs into a PvP zone, and heads over to a PvP hotspot. He's in a SideWinder and he's busy be-bopping around the system when a Viper MK III(1) shows up and begins shooting at him. A battle ensues and after about 3 minutes the SideWinder goes boom.

^---- So using only the data we have here is that legit PvP or not legit?

NOTES
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1: The sexiest ship in the entire fleet. No doubt.

If you're in a PvE PG and you attack another player it's ganking. It's as simple as that. They could set punishment settings adjustable by the PG owner, like permanent wanted, auto flag user with FDev who could ban player, etc. That way you could have variations of PGs. PGs that allow PvP, PGs that allow but punish PvP and PGs that are PvE only.

So I'm not responsible for policing my own private group?
I think I'm getting a headache.

No, you would become responsible policing your own PG this way. Currently you're not.

Edit: I see what you're saying there. I meant that punishment and ban should be cross groups. So permanent wanted would count in open, any PG and solo. Ban by FDev would mean no more Elite on that account, anywhere.

I'm confused.
You can currently kick people out of your private group, correct?

I've a private group myself and I've invited the worst thugs on this forum.
They don't ever show up, although Krash was in Eravate over the weekend.

That's why it would need to be settings. So a PG owner can't punish players randomly, but if they break pre-established rules, they're out of the game.

Are you suggesting that players have the ability to permanently ban other players from the entire game?

No, please read what I wrote:

So when a player decides to break the rules, they'd get flagged to FDev who then can ban them if required. Although, I wouldn't mind an auto-ban if players break rules repeatedly

If they gank and break the rules in PG, the admins will deal with it. Frontier also have said that one could be banned for breaking PG rules purposely.
Open is fair game. PG, not so much.
This is the first solid reason I've seen to never be in a private group.
I think anyone with an imagination can quickly see how this could be abused.

Let's say I hated BigMaec for being so terribly sexy all of the time.
I invite him to a private group, say over voice chat that I'd like him to teach me PvP.
After he kills me a couple of times I fill out a support ticket complaining that he broke the group rules.
A couple of my friend back my story.

BigMaec gets permanently banned from the game.

I think perhaps people here have lost perspective on what real griefing can be.
Getting your ship blown up once isn't griefing - I flat out don't care the circumstances.

I cannot participate in this discussion anymore.
I feel sick.

Thank you for the clarification.
That is a bit more reasonable; however, I am still appalled.

Yeah that wouldn't be nice. That's why I have learned to screenshot and record every fight I have.

You have no idea where Beagle Point is, do you? I'm not even close yet, but I've not seen a station for over... 15,000ly? If you know of a route to BP that has stations every couple hundred lys, please do share that with the rest of us.
