Ganking People in Sol

My issue is not with ganking in general. Although ganking as defined by "killing defenseless targets which cant fight back or run" is distasteful and practiced mainly by immature 12 year olds, it's not the big problem here.

The problem is right now the only ganking which should happen in Sol, is Humans ganking Thargoids

Yeah, and I shouldn't eat too much chocolate. Yet it happens. Get over it, don't give them attention, block or choose your mode as neccessary.

Blocking is an instancing filter.

You cannot instance with people who are on your blocklist.

How does blocking someone prevent them from ganking you?

It doesn't absolutely prevent it, but it makes it much less likely that they'll ever be in the same instance as you at all in future.

If they do get into your instance - perhaps you or they are winged up with someone already there - they can still shoot you normally.

well technically it is unlikely. Still can happen when teams and friends lists are involved. It's not a hard filter, it has graduations.

You cannot instance with them again. I have 4 blocked - no naming and shaming on here, mind.

As long as you communicate that in game, and not just outside of the game as an excuse, that's not ganking. Carry on, CMDR.

Reminder that you can and should use the block function to filter out people you don't want to play with. It's there, it works like a charm and you should absolutely use it and abuse it. Until fdev fixes their utterly broken crime and punishment system, this is the only way.

And if they were with any friends or wingmates, don't forget to block them as well. If the ganker is with any of them and they're not blocked he's going to be there with you anyway.

And on this note - it's worth mentioning to AX pilots, that turning off 'Report Crimes Against Me' is often recommended.
Friendly fire happens a lot in chaotic instances.
Watch those itchy trigger fingers, and double check all your targets o7

Ganker won the minigame on their side as well.
From my experience that mini game UI doesn't display enemy progress correctly.
It's always rigged.

Interesting. I got pulled in Tionisla last night, was trying the T8 out which was A-rated but unengineered, was surprised how easily I won the interdiction minigame. Unless the T8 got some of the T7 supercruise characteristics perhaps. All seemed to play out as I would expect though, the other player eventually appeared back in SC but didn't try again.

Agreed, probably added bits of irrelevant info there, but as I said it was surprisingly easy to evade. Easier than against NPCs even. The other player was in a Mandalay fwiw.

Have done, many times, but against NPCs
