GD 140 A 10 B Fungoida where?

Greetings Commanders,

I’m trying out the Odyssey exobiology gameplay. Mapped bubble system body GD 140 A 10 B and it shows four biologicals; clypenus, cactoida, bacterium and fungoida. The heat maps for each of the first three pretty much covers the entire body in blue. And these three are easy to find and usually located close to each other.

My problem is the fungoida. There is absolutely no blue anywhere to be found in its heat map. I’ve orbited the body several times looking, landed in different terrain, flown around at 4 m height searching, but can’t find it anywhere. Can anyone help me out? What exactly am I looking for and where should I be looking? Or is it, as the heat map implies, just not there?

One of those, I have flown there to check, and yes there will be blue heatmap, but it may only be a couple of pixels in size and only be able to spot on the dark side of the planet, here is an example of a similar situation I had and what I eventually found, these were the only blue spots on the entire planet;

As you can see I am about 90klm up and cruising slowly across the dark side of the planet. Once you find and fly down they are quite large areas, but only a tiny dot from orbit!

As u zoom in towards the planet surface keep using the scanner (attuned to fungoid) and you'll see it change focus on it.. I usually go for the lighter bits but the colours only reflect topography apparently....I'm still not convinced of that but there you go.

There are no easily visible coloured areas for fungoida on the heatmap, the problem is finding them, not interpreting them!

According to the wiki :
Fungoida are only known to grow on the sides of large mountains, where they can often be found among clusters of other biologicals such as Frutexa.

So look for the most elevation i guess?

I stopped bothering with fungoida after a bit. They're rare and hard to find, and pay too poorly to bother with.
So they took all the fun outta the Fungoida ?

We have a winner! And “a couple of pixels in size” is an accurate description of the actual heat map. Here it is. The only blue spots for fungoida I’ve been able to find. A small blue square with a tail at the top of a hill and a smaller blue dot at the bottom of the hill to the left. I was able to land on the top of the hill beside the blue square and it was sadly lacking any fungoida. Landed down in the saddle by the smaller dot and nothing there either. I’ve given up the search and moved on to another planet, where fungoida, although not plentiful, can actually be found.

Well done finding some blue, I had a look for a couple of days and couldn't see any, then I got distracted by update 13 and the events in HIP 22460, back to exploring now and may pay another visit later to see if I can actually find some fungoida after my current targets are done.
