Parks Geauga Lake (Six Flags Ohio/Worlds of Adventure) Recreation

I am bringing back an iconic theme park established in 1887 and unfortunately closed in 2007. Well, it's back now! This has "secretly" been under construction since last year (during alpha testing). I am now finished! Here are pictures of over 2 year's worth of (slow) progress...

From Steam:
Relive your childhood in this recreation of Geauga Lake (Six Flags Worlds of Adventure). Prior to its closure in 2007, Geauga Lake was a destination cherished by many in Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas. I am bringing it back to real life (virtually). Scenario: Manage this park better than its previous management ever did and prevent it from closing...again. Feel free to tack on the "5-year plan" (Volcano, extended monorail, and 200 foot hypercoaster) originally planned for this park before being sold after the 2003 season. Spent over 2 years building this (very slowly) and used hundreds of my own photos, archived 2002 and 2006 park maps, online photos, archived google earth photos, rcdb, and video footage. Please don't forget to give me (Neezy216) credit if any assets are taken out.

WOW amazing work! Some pictures look soooooo real! You made a great park there with a great layout!
Thanks for sharing!

Hell yes! This puts mine to shame.

How are you handling the increased friction for your wooden coasters? I've found user submitted coasters of the Villain, The Big Dipper, and Raging Wolf Bobs, but they're all taller than Batman. I know the perspective of your Raging Wolf Bobs makes it hard to tell, but it looks quite a bit taller than I remember it.

Your observation tower is a good fit, but there is a ride called Sky Watcher which is an observation tower that people can actually ride.

Hey Kenepo4u, The in-game observation tower (skywatcher) is too tall (grossly taller than everything Geauga Lake ever had) and definitely not like the one that existed at Geauga Lake. I decided to keep the model I created because it matches what Geauga Lake had. Also, I created the scenery "skyscraper model" months before the "sky watcher" ride was placed in the game. Overall, the goal is to give people that know this park (lived 15 minutes from it and used to worked there), a nostalgic look at it using archived images/videos/park maps from its 2001 and 2006 appearance/

@VaporTrail, all of the wooden coasters are taller (but not taller than batman lol) to ensure they at least finish their course. With the new friction option coming, i will be able to go back and alter the height of all wooden hills to match their real life (but sadly defunct) counterparts.

This is an amazing work... the feeling and atmosphere is so realistic. Great designs and fantastic buildings... Keep up that fantastic work and would like to see more!
A lot of greets, corkscrewloop [happy]

Hello

Please check your inbox, I had a few questions for you.

Main question, are you ever going to finish this park?

It looks AMAZING!!! [up]

This looks awesome! Geagua Lake was always one of those parks that I wish they opened again like Kentucky Kingdom (both parks were driven to the ground while Kentucky Kingdom was the only one of the two to open up again afterwards). I've only ridden one Geagua Lake coaster in my lifetime, that one being X-Flight (now Firehawk at Kings Island, where I still ride it today). Geagua Lake was really an amazing park from what I hear...

More info on 5 year plan

Neezy,
First off I've been waiting on this park since the I got the game and I love it! Thank you for doing such a great job!
Second on the workshop in the description you talk about the 5 year plan for Geauga Lake Before it sold. Could you give some more info about that 5 year plan? Geauga Lake is my home park and always will be, but I never knew about the 5 year plan and I would love to know all about it.

Hi Mr. Andrew,

When I worked at the park in 2003 (Six Flags Worlds of Adventure at the time), management told employees there was a 5 year plan to include a 200 foot hypercoaster on the animal side (park was working on approval from bainbridge and aurora), extended monorail around ride and animal sides, and a walk through volcano...that's all I can remember unfortunately. It was a sad day when rumors of the park being sold floated around before actually becoming true.

Another flashback, Cleveland Clinic day at Geauga Lake was literally the busiest day every year with the exception of 2000 and 2001 lol.

CEDAR POINT IS NEXT! Sneak Peek below. I will start a separate thread in the near future to provide updates.

I expect to have everything "strategically" fit within the boundaries we currently have in Planet Coaster...all while limiting the amount of excess scenery so fps doesn't suffer too much. Hoping a Chair lift is added soon.
