Who's with me on this? I, for one, am incredibly tired of a 12LY jump range! Especially on a vessel with "long range patrol" in its description! With the introduction of Engineers that require you to travel hundreds of light-years for one commodity, this kind of range is utterly ridiculous!

Same in FDL. These both ships have terrible and annoying jump range.

You have nothing more to do than craft 4 or 5 grade of FSD through the Engineers, jump should go up to around 15ly. There is no other way to get bette jump range on these ships.

Or just use Anaconda. Somethin instead of something. Similar firepower, a bit less of shields, same speed, much better jump range.

200 ly with 12ly jump is around of 28 jumps, a half hour of flying. Not so much to be honest.

Let's take everyone's favourite ship's pros and cons table, for each item in the cons write "remove that".

What would happen next is that people would want more pros to compensate for every other ship being just as good or better for same price or cheaper.

True. Though, if you have a conda you can use it to go there, craft the FSD and the return and swap it.

level 4 FSD mod is not too hard to craft and I got +34% range out of it, i.e. from 12 lyr to 16 lyr.
I can tell you that 16 lyr on the corvette makes a world of difference.

range means range, long time is long time.

Long range directly suggesting good jump range. This description should just be removed. Both vette and FDL are a ships of one system.. and FDL is called a bounty hunter ship....

Except that the Corvette only has the two huge hardpoints going for it. There aren't any huge turret-mounts, making them only viable against large ships. That, and how is, say, a 15-LY range a huge advantage? It still can't carry any noticeable amount of cargo, and would still have the smallest jump range of any of the three "large" ships. The range it currently has is just plain annoyingly unnecessary.

"Patrol" generally wouldn't mean skipping systems. It can cover big ranges in due time.

Time of flying in one system and range in one system are not a factor in this game. In every ship you can stay a few days or weeks in one system and you can fly as far you want by some hours - it only depend of how much fuel you have. I flied over 24 hours to the Sirius system ;) Without hyperspace.
The only factor of 'range' in Elite is 'jump range'.

Yeah, except I'm only rich enough for the Corvette.

Long range in this game could mean long jump range or low fuel consumption but none of those apply for corvette. So description "Long range patrol" is very missleading
