Okay this is getting very irritating, so I’m suggesting that this should be fixed by FDev devoting more thought before writing flavour text.
There is more and more of the flavour text throughout Elite Dangerous which is either nonsense or plain misleading – it’s like the developer doesn’t understand how the text actually relates to the subject matter; just doesn’t think it through.
I’ll kick off this thread with the following example, but I invite all CMDRs’ to add any erroneous flavour text to this thread that is in any part of the game.
Example: A faction has entered retreat state – rationally an undesirable outcome for an NPC faction – and so missions related to retreat appear on the Mission Board. However, the missions are worded as if the faction wants to retreat e.g. Help us prepare our escape by delivering 180 units of uraninite, but by completing the this +++++ influence mission you will increase their influence in the system and prevent the retreat.
