getting back to the bubble?

Im out in Colonia, but now with all that's going on in the story, thinking about getting back to the bubble?

does anyone have a fleet carrier going back? Im really not looking forward to the 100s of jumps to get back!

Ive got an aspX, which has only a couple of fsd upgrades.. I came out without neutron stars... but I guess I can attempt these on the way back...
hope I don't blow up too many times :) .... but still seems like a lot of jumps ... 192 I think I calculated as.

also, I bought a couple of ships... Krait mk2 / Python...
I guess, my best bet is to sell everything before I leave Colonia... as I noticed the transfer costs, make it uneconomic.

and I guess, once I get back to the bubble, Im going to need to kit out an AX build perhaps on the Krait.

or perhaps I just wait for the Thargoids to come to come get us in Colonia :)

cool, FCOC looks like a great opportunity....

is there another way? I read something about a suicidewinder....

I'm not sure of details, but I can I do something like , grab sidewinder... blow up.
then select to respawn using a stored ship, one that Ive left in the bubble?
(i.e. do you respawn where the selected ship is stored, or your current system?)

of course, this wouldn't help get my ships back from Colonia....
so, they have to be sold/rebought... (so that's a pain with the engineered fsds)

I guess, I could leave some stuff in Colonia, if I know I can use this 'trick' to get back....
i.e. always store a ship in locations you want to return to.

btw: fdev... if we can have items and ships transferred long distances - why can't we get a taxi between systems ?
always felt a bit off , that Apex Interstellar don't do some long range trips ....
similarly, there are passenger missions bubble->Colonia and back, why can't we as players charter a trip ;)
(oh, and be awkward passengers, that suddenly decide, once we are en-route, we want to go somewhere completely different !)

You can blow up, then chose the freewinder in the system you originally started the game from. If the station doesn't have a shipyard, fly out to one that does and summon a ship to you.

Transport costs from Colonia to the bubble is approximately 130% of the value of each ship transferred, and takes around 65 hours.

Yes you can suicidewinder back. If you want to move your fleet and modules there is a weekly shuttle service available via that FCOC link (two carriers working in relay). I've used both many times and they're a very good service!

thanks @Rat Catcher ... that could be handy indeed... I'll send you an FR if I decide to head back tomorrow - cheers.

@Frankymole , yeah, Ive checked up on FCOC, that shuttle looks really useful...
means I can pop back to Colonia again, if I wanna get out of the bubble.

funny after all the jumps to get to Colonia it felt so remote, but now knowing its not so difficult to get back... its feeling a little less remote :)

War will be leaving tomorrow by 10:00 am UK time.
The other alt will leave Friday (it takes 16 hours to jump back to the bubble, so 2 days) so if you are still in need of a lift Thursday, I'll put shipyard and module storage on that FC to get all of your kit back.

The fastest way back to the bubble:
By a cheep sidewinder, leave the stn in it, self destruct. On the select screen choose the free sidewinder. You appear in the bubble. Fly to your favorite ship in the bubble, or have it xfered to you, or buy a new ship. Your old ship will be waiting for you in Colonia. This is a good strategic move if you want to leave a good ship in Colonia for future use. If you are never going to return I suppose you can sell off all your stuff but I recommend keeping any engineered mats. Personally I would leave a nice ship in Colonia.

Before Leaving Colonia:
Maybe stating the obvious. Unlock the engineers there and set the blueprints. At least do a few. Your future self will thank you.
