Getting booted then killed when returned to game

I am getting sick and tired of this. I am mining and almost have a full load of painite and I get booted “not due to my internet connection “ then when I get returned into the game it instantly drops me next to pirates that give me 0 time to drop cargo and they blow me up.
It’s happened several times and I’m losing more credits than it’s worth, is there possibly a fix for this fdevs ?
Pain in this is, can’t we be responing where we were kicked from where there were no pirates in site?
Sincerely frustrated customer.

If it is not due to your internet connection, what is causing the disconnects? There has to be a reason and you're the one in the best position to figure out what that reason is.

In the past two months I have been "booted" from the game exactly 3 times; twice it was due to my internet which went out for a few minutes and once it was because Frontier took their servers down to patch. Given that, I can't really side with "it must be frontier's fault" if you haven't done any due diligence on your end to trouble shoot.

My internet used to boot me from the game constantly, to the point I couldn't play it anymore. When it did work, it was painfully slow. Took months until BT actually fixed the problem.
But that's a different story.

If you get disconnected inside a ring, you know something is going to spawn when you log in again.
So either;
A) See what spawns, and if it's a pirate(wait for comms message), log out, and back in again (repeat until it isn't a pirate). This isn't cheating, because the game shouldn't be spawning stuff on top of you when you log in anyway.
B) Log on, Stick full pips to engines and boost out of the ring, checking what spawns. Keep the NPC as far away as possible, because they have to scan you before they shoot you.
If you get shot at, stick 4 pips to system, and hit supercruise (or hyperspace if mass locked) ASAP. Win!

And fit some heatsink launchers.
I have a T9 for mining Painite, 4 lots of heatsink.
I logout in the ring, log back in, boost away from all contacts for a couple of minutes, fire heatsinks if anyone tries to scan.

Not a fix for your issues, but a work around.

To avoid issues like this I used to mine in an Orca with 6A thrusters, any time I had to log back into a ring (usually my fault) I started running before even looking if anyone was around.

Sorry can't help with the connection issue.

Thanks for the ideas folks, much appreciated. I’m in a t9 and it’s slow as hell so I’m boosting and trying to jump out but npc’s are on top of me before I’m able to even have my fsd ramp up. I don’t have this issue with any of the other games I play on just ed.

The only thing I see is that box that says lost connection with server. This doesn’t happen when I play other games like destiny or anthem, my internet connection is quite solid as far as I know. So I’m not saying it’s frontiers fault, I’m saying “is there anyway that they can give a bit more distance from npc’s into res pawn areas”

It figures other games would have better Type-9's than Elite: Dangerous does.

In any case, I hope the disconnection problems clear up!

Since my original response I have seen a handful of other people mention recent disconnect issues. Because it's not wide spread, doubtful that it is on Frontier's end, but could be something going on with routing traffic for people on a particular ISP or location. Might be worth doing a trace route next time you disconnect to see.

If you're in a Ship that can't escape a fresh spawn of Pirate NPCs after a disconnect : be prepared for it.

So instead of deploying Hardpoints and trying to continue Mining, boost to the edge of Mass-Lock and be ready to jump out if you see the usual suspects incoming.
On that way you can still decide if you'd rather stay or leave and you keeping a distance should give you ample time to make that decision and/or egress safely.

Also recommend 7A thrusters if that's not what you are currently using. Worth every extra penny on the T9...it still handles like a drunken oxen, but every little bit of extra thrust helps on the thing. I mine in one myself, so I feel you when you say it's painful trying to away. The best thrusters money can buy and some heatsinks like @Speedcuffs mentioned earlier do the trick though, in my experience.

I definitely might have to get a faster ship with less cargo space to fix this problem, thanks for the idea 👊
