Newcomer / Intro Getting cheated on my contracts...

I had a contract to supply some palladium to a platform, it was supposed to be worth 107K credits. When I delivered, I was only credited about 30K. I was like... what...? Maybe I misread something.

So the next time I dropped something off, I carefully noted what my balance was before and after, and the supposed reward.

I had 61,216 credits, my reward for the deal was supposed to be 15,179. After I got paid, my balance went to 66,235, a 5,019 increase.

Is there a 66% tax rate in the future, or is something broken?

At this rate it is going to take me forever to buy a decent ship (currently in a Hauler)

I suspect there's something going on with mission payouts but I've not been paying enough attention to jump up and down about it yet and haven't had a chance to play in a few days. The only possible valid explanation I can think of (and even then it's WAY too much) is, do you have a debt from a previous insurance claim?

Have not lost a ship (yet). Have not incurred any fines, bounties or anything else either. Should I file a ticket?

At this point it's just your say-so. I'd say keep an eye on it a bit longer and screenshot (press F10) the mission window showing the payout and the screen showing your balance immediately afterwards. IF you don't have any evidence it's hard for them to take you seriously, but if you have screenshots (especially of several occurrences) it a: proves you're telling the truth and b: gives them a place to start looking for an error.

I suspect your misreading the bulletin board mission offer. The mission where you have to source items for a location, you get to keep the difference between what you pay to buy the items and what they are offering, so the cheaper you can buy the items for the more profit you make. they don't pay for you to get the goods and give you the reward mentioned.

That makes no sense whatsoever. If I drop cargo for a reward of 15,179 then that is what I should get. The way you are putting it, I buy the goods (let's say I spent 10,000) then I only get "the difference". That means I have paid for it twice! Once to put it in my ship, and once more when they deduct the 10,000 from my "reward". The other spaceport does not give me the stuff for free.

Check how your math logic is working.

Not my maths lol. To use your example. They want goods that cost you 10,000 to buy, the mission reward is 25,000, you keep the difference. Therefore when you deliver the goods, you get the reward of 25,000, but because you spent 10,000 buying the goods, your balance only goes up by 15,000.

Yeah, you need to think about what you are saying. I ALREADY SPENT THE CREDITS. It was already deducted from my balance WHEN I PURCHASED THE PRODUCTS. When I deliver the goods, I need to get the amount they said I would get, because I am ALREADY IN THE HOLE 10,000 credits. The 10,000 was deducted from my account before I delivered, for what you are saying to be true that cost would not be deducted until I deliver. But I am not buying on credit, I am spending cash.

It just happened again. I dropped off 6 robotics to Hartsfield Plant in Potriti. I was supposed to get 20,771 for the job. I got 8,076. And just in case you were wondering, they cost me 1,636 each at McKee Ring in GD 219, so my sunk cost was 9,816. So adding that to 8,076 still does not add up to the 20,771 I was supposed to get. Have screenshots before and after.

This is starting to get more than irritating. I am being cheated on my missions.

are you taking refueling, repairing and rearming into account? or are you checking your figures before you buy those? If you are then i would ticket it.

All the other associated costs are irrelevant. If the mission says you're gonna get 10000cr then that's what you get. What you spend on stock, fuel, blah blah are separate transactions. The only things that could be affecting it are if you have a debt (which we've established he doesn't) in which case he'd lose 10% of every deal till the debt's paid off... or if you were paying tax which to my knowledge hasn't been implemented and certainly not at a 66% tax rate.

Did you get screen shots this time? We need this reported. I'll be screen shot-ing every one of my payout screens from now on.

Just finished playing for the night, did 5 more trade runs. Three were fine, two were short (how come I never get overpaid?)

Last mission before saving I dropped 8 Computer components to McKee at GD 219 for 8,472 but was only credited 5,734.

I am taking screen shots EVERY TIME with the handover screen open so you can see the reward etc, the time stamp on the bulletin board and my balance on the left, then immediately after where it shows "Mission Summary" with the effects and reputation changes you make, also clearly shows time stamp and account balance. Obviously the screenshots are seconds apart.

Sent some screenshots to Frontier. Asked if they will need all of them or will a bug fix correct my bank account.

Excellent plan. I'll hopefully get a few hours gaming in today, will be doing the same thing. I don't mind what some folks call "grinding" to make a buck, as long as I actually make money rather than losing it.
