Getting real tired of this buggy bounty hunting.

As far as friendly fire against system security, I am perfectly fine with the fines racking up, but maybe not have them openly attack until the player actually blows one of the up? There has just got to be a way to minimize or ease that especially when the security AI is so reckless...

Yesterday, I was about 300m off the tail of a wanted Cobra blasting away, bounty of about 25k, and a security eagle dropped right in between us. I broke off my attack immediately, but a couple of shots hit, I got my 600 credit fine, and my radar went red with about a billion security all coming after me...forget about the wanted NPC who had already killed system security ships in the battle...let's all go after the clean guy who had a stray shot when one of our pilots was a dumbass trying to thread the needle...

straha20, I concur with this issue, I've seen it a few times now. The other annoying aspect of this situation is that the FSS ships will on occasion collide with yours which can also result in a fine and 'wanted' status which has the same effect of turning all of the FSS present against you.

Sandro, here's the behaviour I've observed...

This is exactly the behavior I observe every evening at the Nav Beacon in Sesuang near Lugh when having a little fun, down to the letter. Sometimes it takes a little longer than others for the cops to get angry, but inevitably the radar starts filling up with more and more red dots that may or may not be criminals until finally there is a message directly from the cops about their kill run on me commencing. Once they do, I hit SC and leave, come back, and it's back to normal for another little while. I never have a wanted status or indicator flashing, no fines, no contraband, and have not shot anyone but those showing as wanted in system.

This happened to me in SOL, on the Nav Beacon, I killed a wanted Sidewinder, and the minute I hit him two security vessels turned red but didn't actually attack me.

I've seen this occur before so i just ignored it, and took down a wanted hauler. Shortly after blowing up the hauler, one of the red security vessels came roaring past me, did a 180, and promptly started firing. The second vessel carried on patrolling even though it was flagged red, but the first just carried on pelting me as i tried to Super-Cruise out.

Now this was just after the servers came back up after the update, and something else that was interesting is that the usual trick of Super-cruising away appears to have gotten very hard as for some reason when fleeing from a security vessel the frame-shift is delayed (Factor 18) and the heat generation of your ship goes through the roof. Eagles run hot, I get it, but before the patch Super-cruise would never actually overheat me, but now It's going to 120-130% heat, but ONLY when trying to super-cruise away from a security vessel.

I'm going back to exploration for the time being, fighting pirates is fun but with the security faction bug and this weird 18 factor SC issue, it's not worth it.

Hello Commanders!

We're aware that something is occasionally going awry with system security forces. The result is that you can sometimes aggro authority ships even when attacking a wanted vessel.

We're looking into this - annoyingly it's an intermittent issue, making it harder to track down - and as soon as we get a fix we'll let everyone know.

In the mean time, if you find yourself under attack from the police after legitimately attacking a felon: jump to super cruise or make a hyperspace jump - do not fight back, as this would constitute committing a crime.

Intermittent issue? Really? Happens to me all the time so i don't bother fighting any were near security vessels, Anarchy all the way for me.

There are some big, high populated anarchy systems with alot of trafic, you only need to find the right one, equip your kill warrant scanner and you are ready to go, most of the ships there have at least some bounty and 99% of them are payable by main factions, so its really easy to collect them.

CD-82 331. Anarchy system with both an empire and federation station in it. ~30 ly from Sorbago. Good hunting, easy claims. Also Lee station has MASSIVE amount of upgrades, along with Gotz dock in the neighboring system

What about NPC ships that vanish when you interdict them? Thats so damn annoying, too!
(According to some other players its because they are NPC ships of other players in the instance. If so: great system! Just great!)

I've also seen this happen when you hit a USS that is very close to a station. If the encounter strays near the station "bubble", EVERYTHING disappears. I was tagging some fools once, he was dropping all sorts of goodies, then POOF. Everything was gone. Except the new contact, the station at 995km :(
