Getting the Artemis Suit to Explorers out in the black

The easiest way to get the Artemis Suit to explorers out in the black without needing to come back to civilisation is to generate a beacon for help when they drop into a system that they can then follow to a crash site a fallen explorer. Make this beacon a one-time thing and issue them to specific galactic regions. Also, check on the backend to see if the suit is already in their inventory before sending a signal out. This way you are not forcing them to come back and it makes sense lore-wise.

There are upsides and downsides of being out in the black, not being in reach of any stations or settlements is one of it. I wouldn't find it too immersive to "stumble" upon a slightly-too-convenient suit POI (never mind the stripping clothes of dead people) or suddenly finding a suit in my inventory. There's probably a more elegant solution, but I really can't think of any right now.

The most elegant solution would be to add an interior for fleet carriers that has a shop that sells the level 1 suits, then folks could visit their local DSSA carrier. They need interiors, anyway.
Wouldn't that still require you the have the fleet carrier outfitted with said shop?

Agreed. Or somehow allow carriers to buy "suit supplies" so we can ferry suits out to commanders in the black. Maybe a "concourse module".

It could piggyback on one of the existing upgrades. Like, the exobiology store would come with the universal cartographics upgrade since it's the legs version, and the shooty store would come with the outfitting/shipyard upgrade as it's also the legs version.

Having a store on the fleet carriers would be great, you disembark, walk to the store, hang out in the social area with other commanders... Oh, wait, I forgot that fleet carrier are glorified parking garages.

Another missed opportunity.

I, and I’m sure many others, would be more than happy to shuffle my carrier around a bit to get the module and then reposition my carrier to one of the cardinal extremities. They need to update fleet carriers, it was a gross oversight.

Is it too much to expect people to anticipate the well broadcast before release (because of the alpha) need for a suit you don't currently own and find a station nearby to make your purchase? This issue should have been brought up before ED:O was released. At this point if you STILL don't have an Artemis suit it's on you imo.

There's almost certainly a station within say 10kly from your location. Find it in EDDB and start [gasp] exploring in its direction...

If you guys shopped at Coes and Co you’d know they delivered, wherever you were in the Galaxy. However, being new generation Amazon/White Stuff/Fat Face/H&M/Gap type Primark’ers you’ve found the G1 Artemis suit hard to come by being 20’000lyrs from home.

Get real guys. You make your decisions and you live with them. You want it, go get it. Don’t whine about it.

Did I leave a mic around here? Feel sure I should drop something about now.

The way I dealt with it and I was out near BYAA THOI GC-D D12-0.

I received a message to say that new developments by the pilots federation now allows for licensed pilots to conduct missions on foot once a training module was completed at Shinrarta Dezhra.

Just head canon it.

scavenging suits from a distress beacon or crash site would definitely be of help to those way out in the black who cannot simply fly back to the bubble in any great haste, and they are missing out on exobiology and even scavenging (if you can get to a system, it is reasonable that some relic probe or misjumped commander crashed) BTW I kind of miss being able to misjump your ship

Seriously? How hard is it to drop a bookmark and head back to Colonia/the Bubble/Explorer's Anchorage? You can get to Colonia from the bubble in a few hours using the neutron highway.

Just have the flight suit equipped with the sampler by default, after all we can replicate missiles, fighters, repair the hull and subsystems in flight using only what bits we pick up on the way… if people need more than a smaller, pick up an Artemis suit and mod it

If the SRV/ship had the bio-sampler fitted I wouldn't need a suit to do exobiology, but having one would give the advantage of being able to scan more difficult to reach samples. I already had to have bought the DLC to be able to bio-scan & land on atmospheric worlds, I don't need the game to force me to go out on foot (but it could provide an advantage).
