Getting thermal overheat in Asp exp when using 2* 2f burst lasers

He had a good point though - the game doesn't really explain how exactly the distributor settings work. Engine is fairly easy to understand (ships goes faster and can boost more often with more pips) but Sys and Wep have some side effects (heat, shield resistance) that are simply not visible and almost impossible to find just by playing the game.

I learned some of this stuff reading this forum but it's quite possible that I still don't understand some of the finer points of distributor pips after playing the game for several years - there is no feedback about these features while playing the game.

Upgrade your Powerplant.

Powerplants determine how quickly your ship can disperse built up heat. A rated ones will dump heat the fastest.

Pips in weapons makes a big difference. I found this out the first time I tried mining. Also, efficient weapon mod.

No they didn't have a point, their posts since joining have been a series of incorrect complaints and not responding to corrections, basically trolling the game. In this particular case:

The manual quite clearly tells you that applying pips to weapons determines the energy used to provide cooling for them.

The manual section:

POWER DISTRIBUTOR

This graphic represents the currently available amount of energy in your ship’s capacitors,
and the ratio at which power is distributed to them from the vessel’s power plant. This is
represented by a number of “pips” underneath each bar. The more pips a bar has, the more
quickly it is refilled.

There are three ‘capacitors’ within the power distribution system, and you can choose which
sub-systems to prioritise:

SYS: This displays how much energy is available to recharge shields and
power defensive modules. In addition, the more pips assigned, the more
resistant shields are to attack.

ENG: This displays how much energy is available to initiate emergency
thrust (boost). In addition, the more pips assigned, the more manoeuvrable
and fast the ship becomes.

WEP: This displays how much energy is available to cool weapon systems
.

So you can see that your observations are incorrect or at least faulty.

To quote my old granny - RTFM .....
