Getting use out of those X52 extras (pic hvy)

I am still having a bit of Trouble with the Modes. I want to program the modes for different uses while in game effectively getting rid of the key board. Such as when I switch to mode 2 or (purple) Joy 7 then turns into my Jump to Super Cruise rather then engaging my rear thrusters on my ship in Mode 1. Now I am at the point of getting down the functions of these buttons, but have no Idea how to tie them in to the actual settings of ED. :S Help?

I assume (havent tried- my mode switch selects weapon groups), but once you have the modes set up in the config, slaving that button combo to the in game interface should be as simple as being in options>controls, clicking the command you want (making sure your mode is the correct color), then pressing the button.

Failing that, you could just manually assign supercruise in game to Ctrl-F1, then in the profiler have mode (purple)-button seven generate the character Ctrl-F1. It will be puzzling to work out and then get the muscle memory locked in, but once those internal neural pathways are grown and reinforced (with practice and application), it will eventually come naturally.

hope that helps

Ooops - silly me. I'm using the Pro. Well - the offer is still there - anyone want to do that with the Pro, just shout. I've had two requests for my setup file, custom binds and a brief text tutorial so far and no complaints.

Though, if they've smashed themselves into the side of the station, I accept no responsibility whatsoever.

I was hoping that you would be able to send me the setup file, custom binds and the tutorial, I would really appropriate it!

I'd like to get these files too. Have sent my email by PM.

Sorry for the delay in replying, chaps. been away with work!
I'be now uploaded the files to the interweb, along with a trackIR profile and some destructions.
Have messaged those that have asked for profiles.

If you follow my sig below and go to the technical section on the right, there is info on the profile!

Any problems, please message me. If you're doing a download from there, could I ask a favour and get you to send me a message so I know who and how many are using it!

I regularly update the profile with changes, so keep an eye on here, or subscribe to the post on the internet for any updates.

If you have questions, suggestions or any other comments, feel free to ask!

(I'm getting married this weekend, but normal service will resume in the new year once I stop being groomzilla)

I'm just setting up my profile and this might just be the thing i missed so far. To bad no one could get the mouse "nipple" working (would love it to use for headlook)...
So, thanks and rep to calaban and vingtetun :D

Bookmarked, and repped.

Thanks dude, I should be getting my X52 tomorrow, and I've never used something like it before. This will be a big help!

You only need to delete the shiftstate modes, the modes 1,2 and 3 are connected to the wheel on top of the joystick. The way you've set it up only allows for one mode, severely limiting what you can do with the software. I've got a profile with 3 modes, combat macros for pips, docking macro, auto set pips for flight mode, auto set scanner range for combat and docking mode, the works :)

Cheers all. Bad timing, eh? Wedding then honeymoon just as the game launces... Good thing I've had a year of Alpha/Beta/Gamma to mess around in.

I fully expect all of you to have reported all the bugs and supported ED well enough that it will be even more polished by the time I get back from parts for'n.

could someone post/screenshot me the programming of the rotary and the precision slide? the pro profiles wont work in the non pro editor?
ah forget what i said, i found the post mentioning the programming, ill try that now :)

I highly recommend using the pinkie for Flight Assist OFF (hold). Makes you feel bad ass holding that down then pulling back on the stick to get a bead on your target

I'm still trying to find a use for the rotaries and precision slider though. I really want to be able to cycle fire groups, change scanner range, and cycle targets with them but I see no way for this to work with this kind of input. Any suggestions?

I'm also playing with the settings for the rotarys, the 3x band 0-10% / 10-90% / 90-100% doesn't seem to work like i want.
I have to rotate them a full rotation and then back to deploy gears. Would like it to either have the rotary centered and then rotate it clock or counter clockwise to deploy something and move it back to the center to retract. Or rotate a full rotation to deploy and rotate back to retract.

i'm also still playing with the pov switches. I just don't like it how ui navigation is handled in the galaxy map. Cycle next or previous panel with an extra hat is ok to navigate in the left or right panel but it's doesn't feel right for the galaxy map to use 2 different hats to navigate in the left info panel on the galaxy map. guess ill make a mode 2 just for the galaxy map ;)

The pinkie is much better used as a shift switch that it is. I can fit every command on the X-52 Pro with help of the shift switch. Including dump all cargo (I have it as pinkie shift + toggle switch).

Emergency combat functions like shield boost and chaff launcher are also very easy to access like this; pinkie+fire 1, pinkie and+fire 2. Subsystem selection on pinkie+top hat switch... and of course flight assist off is also pretty easy to reach; pinkie+throttle big button.

The rotary dials can be used for scanner range change; if you hit the max or min zoom, just keep going until you hit the stop, then reverse to get it to the zoom level you need.

Confused. Mine has 3 modes?
