Gimbled vs Fixed weapons

I find fixed more fun to fight with, gimballed are more efficient though - perhaps that's my rubbish aiming..

I think most of the pilots mix them. For example you cannot mix fixed autocannons with fixed lasers, as you need pre-fire with autocannons, you would end up missing either with lasers or with autocannons. Also I usually mix power-hungry lasers with autocannons to compensate, so I need gimballed autocannons.

Thats a shame. I wanted to have four slicing beams of doom on my Cobra but turrets seem to be trouble....

Turreted defensive pods for shooting down missiles etc works pretty well on my Cobra.
