Give the python an SLF!

So a Python with turrets and a gunner works great? That's new to me.

NO ship works great with multi-crew turrets. This is as true for the Python as it is for any other ship.
The initial claim was, that the Python was created before the introduction of multi-crew and therefore should be "upgraded" with an SLF.
By this logic, every ship should get such an addition, because (and please read my post again, you seem to have overlooked this) I clearly stated that SLFs are the actual fun part of multi-crew.

now really
how do you upgrade that ship with an slf?

shall the slf just warp in from a subspacepocket whenever deployed?

I still have an use my Python. I emphatically vote NO on this.

This is a proposal for which I would vote yes. Or even just 5 utility slots, if six is "too much". The Python is really hampered by only 4. Why is the FDL the only medium ship with 6?

count the number of internal slots of the FDL

Let's make the python great again.

With that said, all ships should have some form of external fighter. And the scale should go from two SLF'S for large ships, one SLF for medium ships, and a drone fighter for small ships.

Yes, and courier's speed and turn rate to anaconda

Why can’t I have my Python like the one I have in Elite frontier ? Due to a game code “issue” it’s cargo hold is bigger on the inside so I could haul 1000’s of tons a trip, add it to that system where diamonds were a waste material they paid you to get rid of, it was a win win situation. Much better that a SLF. Get station rebuilds done in one trip mine a whole asteroid field in one go. Bankrupt a system. What’s not to like LOL

and while doing that,
also giving me access to that plasma accelerator beam that is able to annihilate whole cities in one shot :D

Personally, I would not put an SLF on my Python because mine is not a combat ship. However, if devs decided to do something with this topic I would say make the SRV bay capable of having Either an SLF or SRV but not both.

I know a lot of ppl use the Python for combat but I don't. Its too pretty and useful for other things like passenger missions, cargo hauling and mission running.

I was thinking the other day running around for planet mats, and I sure it's been brought up before, but why not some light, basic engineering for srvs.

Like one to make weapons better (idk if needed really)

Or better shields.

Or better handling (if it's even possible to do)

Or slightly better hull strength or better fuel economy.

I think those last two would be nice and not really change it too much. Be nice to be able to run around longer with one Srv without have to repair or refuel it so much.

Or maybe I'm the only one who does long planetary excursions in them!
Probably been said already but you can synthesize these upgrades to your SRV, both fuel and hull.

As much as I love the Python (my main ship and the one that I fly 99% of the time,) I would say “no” to this.

I just bought 5 of them and I say no as well.

Not sure why this isn't an obvious "Yes". Of course the Python should have an SLF if it can fit one, which obviously it should be able to do given it can haul well over 300T.

Also, the T7 should clearly have an SLF bay as well. As should the Drop Ship.

Given scale a ship like an Anaconda should have a Sidewinder as a SLF.

This is as wise as it sounds. That means we can dock with a sidewinder and piggy back ride when exploring.

It would also allow to hide from attackers in the Anaconda hold. And they could share power, meaning plenty of cool repair/survival options.

That would make a very fun and good game!

There is NO reason AT ALL to not make it so.

I don't understand how so many people are against this. If it can fit in a ship it should be equipable. And it can definitely fit. Doesn't make the ship overpowered etc. as you still have to drop an SCB or Cargo Hold or whatever you need to drop to put in a fighter bay instead. There is only upside and no downside that I can see, or that anyone has argued. Mostly I see facetious red-herrings about wanting super weapons or whatever.

How would it affect negatively your gameplay if medium ships that can fit a fighter bay physically, but that don't have one now, get one? Serious question.
