I must have missed that. Promising. I hope they don't also give it freakishly fast pitch, garbage acceleration, a complete disregard for the blue zone, and limited internal space and say, "Look how -agile- it is! Great combat ship!"

The python already IS out of wack and your idea would make it worse. Same with the conda.

Plus, it would require fdev to take time away from developing new ships as they would have to remodel the python and redesign every paint for it, which would take time away from the people's who jobs it is to make new paints and ship models.

Only thing out of whack about the Python is they nerfed its maneuverability and there is no fighter bay.

Only thing out of whack about the Python is they nerfed its maneuverability and there is no fighter bay.

It is a multi role that is the best medium hauler, it is able to mass lock larger ships like the t-9, and is considered one of the best ships of all time by most of the community. It's maneuverability is in line with that of other medium ships.

It's firepower is better than or equal to most other medium ships. It does not need a slf.

I love the python, its my everyday ship in the game however giving it a SLF will make it grossly overpowered.

Perhaps its finally time we got a python class cruiser (as hinted at in the original ship manual - pic in my avatar)
Give it the SLF along with a bit of balancing... large pad, a couple of upgraded weapons more suited to turrets and bigger hold, worse range, clumpier handling, and lower top speed, teeth decal (!).

I read through some of this thread but I need clarification. Are ppl asking to have an SLF hanger added to the Python in addition to the SRV hanger ?

The Python is already a really good ship for its size. Adding an SLF would make it a mini-anaconda, and a bit overpowered IMO.

It wouldn't be overpowered. It would become a gimped trader, dependent on the SLF to protect it. The extra weight and power requirement, and the heat, would put a strain on the power plant. It would also fly and handle slower. So no, it won't be overpowered.

And the extra mad would put a strain on the shields.

Even a class 7 SLF hanger is 60 tons and 0.35 MW

How would that put any strain on a Python ?

And only hull mass not total mass affects shield effectiveness

I don't think that any medium or smaller craft should have a fighter bay... and... wait for it... no small ship should have a vehicle bay of any kind.

Give me a sec to put my flame suit on. :p

I don't think you're serious. I think you're actually saying the python should get an SLF.
