Give up your cargo or get destroyed!!!

^^^^ Truth in all of its glory but for real let's not focus on the morals considering I just dumped 50t of slaves in to space just to see if they'd come out in containers or as actual people floating in space lols oh video games

I now have the sorest sides while LOLing in work....oh the vision, pmsl

I can't be the only one who would find it hilarious to shoot 150t of slaves out the back of your ship while someone was chasing you lolololol

Edit: Especially if they came out as people and not canisters lololol oh the horror

I'm sorry to here about your injuries, and thank you for your service to this country. That said, I don't appreciate the fact that you know absolutely zero about me. I'm the guy everyone gets mad at because I stop traffic to save a turtle in the road. I risked my job because I couldn't stand to see a rat suffer any longer that was caught in a trap so I let him go. A rat. I try not to step on even a bug if I'm outside because I see no reason to take its life. I was drawn to this game because I like the idea that I have to watch out for the bad guys. There is a place in this game that you can play where you don't risk losing the goods you worked so hard to obtain, it's called solo. If you don't want to bothered by fictional criminal elements in this game, then by all means, play in solo. But don't get judgemental of others, because you don't know what you're talking about. Thanks for the assassination attempt of people you know nothing about.

What's the definition of insanity?..... I leave that as is...

If you don't agree it cool I really don't care. Just like those that enjoy randomly murdering other players, stealing from them don't care if it could ruin another players experience. Solo is Solo, thats not a solution making players segregate themselves because SOME ppl want to go out and murder and steal. So then i should have a discounted price for this game since due to my play style i can only REALLY enjoy half of it, and can't play with friends that play like me. But if FD wants to create this world for pirates they should let us have the ability to have a friendly server where I'm not looking over my shoulder every second, I did that when I served, I do that now, but I don't want to do that in a game.

Thank you. So many seem to miss the point that games are an alternate to reality.

I would also never trade in narcotics, slaves or pilot a space craft 1,000LY from Sol in real life. Nor would I ever call Sol "Sol" in real life either. ;)

Some folks feel strongly about narcotics, slavery or hurting others such that they choose not to associate themselves with those things in game. Personally, I would seek to join a faction that is against slavery, that's how strongly I feel about it.

I don't think it's good to say that players who choose to do those things in-game are actually evil people. You can't play COD without killing somebody or being killed for instance. It is the point of the game (which is not the same as saying "it's just a game").

But it's also not wise to dismiss what folks are saying about choosing to do evil in a game, particularly against other human players.

Being dismissive about getting your fun from ruining someone else's fun isn't respectful. I'd say if you're going to be a pirate, be a good sport about it. That's what helps bring the PvP back to being a game, and not personal.

Getting this topic slightly on track about being pirated...

How do you expect a pirate attempt to go?

Consider, I'm happily flying or mining. Do you show up and send a COMM to drop cargo, interdict me or shoot at me?

What do you expect me to do? How much time do I have to respond? What if I'm fumbly with the controls to drop cargo (I've never done it, so imagine trying to find that in the menu system)?

I can't imagine it being easy to send me a COMM while trying keep up with my ship while I'm still oblivious to you.

I would expect that a pirate might fire a shot across my bow or send a signal to come to a stop. It seems getting me to stop would help signal that I surrender.

Then presumably, I'd drop some cargo, and take off, hoping you scoop the cargo instead of chase after me.

Given the fumbly nature of COMMS (getting into the menu, noticing you said something, etc), I would think a Pirate would need to be kind of patient, lest they blow me up needlessly for not realizing it takes time to get the message.

How does it seem like it goes down for you pirates?

I'm defo taking a look at this as I'm going to be a horrible nasty mutha as soon I get enough credits to kit out some bad boy ships.
Yohoho it's a pirates life for me.

Don't expect to make any money pirating, on a good day you only break even outside of a CG.

Currently, a lack of being able to type quickly on a keyboard does make things difficult. I make most of my bread and butter from npc traders tbh.

With that being said, on a cmdr I would make a demand of around 10 to possibly 15t out of 100. If he does not answer or runs, I will open fire and let loose hatch breaker limpets. As soon as I see cargo, I am scooping it. If he complies I am scooping it. No interest in blowing up cmdr ships needlessly. With that being said, there are griefers out there that shoot regardless and enjoy the notoriety, and I honestly do not want to be associated with that. I do my best to follow piracy as it is described in the elite wiki.

In all honesty it's a lot of risk to take. It does not matter if I murder or not, I get the same death sentence from bounty hunters. Comes with the territory, but I am okay with that. It's just simply too boring for me to just trade, or fly around shooting anything that says 'wanted' on it. Pirating even npc trade ships is a lot more engaging and takes some effort rather than fly to point A or B, or point at this and pull the trigger.

Don't know if this gives some insight on piracy as I do it or not, but I hope so.

I read you pal. Might make things a bit of fun now and then though. ☺
I want to try my hand at all roles, including aiding stranded ships if the need arises.

Your ideas won't work against players.
This is pretty much the only way to do it effectively :

Piracy is really an end game thing since there's nothing else to do :)

That's a sweet video.

I just got a clipper. Working on upgrading it. I plan to pirate people with it when its ready haha. There will be no escape.

Sitting outside George Lucas waiting for people to leave then using my pythons mass and limpets to take their cargo before they ever make it too FSD lololol I just wanted to see if it would work got me some more leesti tea

I'm not claiming to know everything about pvp pirating. Obviously you have done it quite a bit. But am I missing something? You demanded, you shoot, he runs, you shoot, make demands, he drops cargo, and you scoop? Uhhhhhh, yeah, I don't know what specifically doesn't work.

No I demand if it's not dropped and he tries to run I shoot plain and simple although if he really doesn't have any cargo worth taking I don't bother I just wanted to try it out today and it's kinda fun

I'm specifically using rails to shoot out their drives to stop them jumping away. If you submit to an interdiction and then target a different system you can jump away within about 15 seconds and ignore the masslock. That's why there's zero tolerance for ships that try to run after you message them, you have like a 15 second window to disable a ships drives before they can escape. That's why you use railguns as they destroy shields and subsytems.

This is all pre 1.3 in my videos so I'm not using cargo drones to scoop but the principal is the same.

I see. Thanks for clarifying. So, is it worth using the cargo drones for pvp now then?
