Glaives are broken now

I'd suggest that stock price charts are missing! :D
The market loves Glaives.

Meaning it doesn't agree with your POV? It's the only data we have on engagement other than CGs. It is the trend that matters. Not the instantaneous value.
Ah, come now. Fairly sure you know what i meant.
I did not write "muddies the waters" at a complete whim.

You wanna talk about trends that's fine but presenting a miniscule slice as anything but that only serves bias and helps no-one.

Civil discourse is meant to build experience and enlighten, not use cherrypicked statistics to solidify bias. -i hope you know what they say about statistics. ;)

Of course one can also draw the conclusion that ED is a niche game which has had some ups and downs, but more or less steady player numbers for the last 10 years.. :)

I'm happy that the stock market seems to like the last few updates.. :D

Yeah, I'm joining the carebear team.

  • be me
  • can I buy these unclassified relics anywhere? what, not in the market list? but I'm a multibillionaire! oh well
  • spend last week gathering ancient relics - let's make several unclassified relics, fOr The wAR efForT
  • this week fly back, fly to the surface site, - oh no! unannounced CG! gotta hurry with the Bzzzz Bzzzz machine
  • less sleep more unclassified relics
  • fly back, change ships, take care of some stuff, finally make it to a rescue ship
  • sir, you're missing 2 massive energy surge analytics
  • fly back, change ships again, finally make it to a maelstrom
  • all the time UCs in cargo hold because you can't store cargo in this game, of course you can't, you're not allowed to roleplay Han Solo, you gotta get yourself a carrier and roleplay Edward Smith instead
  • fine, we've been through worse
  • glaive interdiction incoming, no worries, I've killed these things before, the forum guys are exaggerating
  • frameshift anomaly detected
  • of course it's a hydra
  • glaive lightning attack spam. this thing can catch up and hit its lightning attack every 3 secs or something.
  • lightning attack goes brrrr
  • can't do anything but watch my hull drop from 80% to 0% in 10s.
  • all hope of making the CGs lost
  • aarrgghh-keyboard.through.monitor.exe

Vent over.

Getting a Hydra dropping in, in a Glaive interdiction, has to be some of the worst luck I’ve yet seen.

On the subject of Glaives, I had to deal with my first hyperdiction today. Two of them, so of course they constantly flew in a way that made it effectively impossible to get out of their mass lock. Naturally you can high wake out to your destination(and I did), but they’re still annoying nonetheless. Especially since their FSD reboot effect is magical and lasts for however long regardless of you using fast boot or not.

One of them would be enough already - I was near perpetually stuck with drives working at .0001% effectiveness since the lightning effect persists past it stopping, so even when my FSD was charged already I still got shot for another 30 seconds due to near-perpetual lightning strikes from both. By the time I got out of their no fun zone, was at 50% hull, though most of my modules were fine(carried 3 reinforcements).

(Couldn’t tell if I was actually hit by a missile or not, FSD was taken out during lightning with no warning if a missile was launched.)

Seriously making me reconsider whether I want to bother getting involved in the war effort too much as a non-AX player (now). Would be easier to deal with them by just shooting back.

Yeah, it does heavily favor FC owners since they can stash away the required materials to unlock the modules needed. I was sitting on multiple UCs I crafted since the day the method was revealed. And I also safely store my caustic tissue samples when my hull got too low and go for another attempt without risking the loss of samples upon death.

Supposedly ECMs will stop their magic FSD missiles. The problem of course, is now you need to run a ship with loads of utility slots to accommodate caustic sink launchers, pulse neutralizers, xeno scanners, and all the other bells and whistles for maelstroms.

I was just heading into controlled space(HIP 21165 near Oya), not the Maelstrom itself, so no issues mounting one to that end. I didn’t so much get stuck from the missiles as at one point magically losing the FSD to lightning and getting the long FSD reboot effect anyway.

Or it was a missile that I received no warning for - but considering that I’ve had it occur twice now where point blank launches of said missile didn’t do anything even when they hit, I’m not sure that it was.

In any case, I was also then stuck even longer by repeatedly getting lightning struck over and over, while the FSD was charged for high wake but I couldn’t get the necessary speed, until one of the Glaives overshot and couldn’t keep up the cycle. Can’t say I found it particularly enjoyable, demanding of skill or tense either. Just sat there letting the hull eat damage until I got out.

(I’d swear their AI was doing it that way on purpose to keep me stuck. Not once did I have both Glaives zapping me at the same time.)
