Glass canopys?

OK i admit defeat i have now lost my canopy for the 19th time and for the 9th time it was a ventral aft attack that popped it in a cobra mk III...whats the point of having a hull that can laugh off nukes if a hit from underneath can pop the apparently glass canopy, take out your displays and force you to dis-engage i could maybe understand if it was cumulative damage but its happened after 4% damage and most of the time around 20%..Anyone else suffering from this rather annoying problem?

I think the A life support has 25 minutes of O2 time?

'Let air in'.....don't you mean vent heat...basic thermodynamics in a vacuum 'guv. All the rest, yup, it's a game, compromises occur.

Also...flat screens. No paralax unless the pilot is wearing an AR setup. Head track8ng on a flat screen, not sure what the co-pilot would see. Anyway...all fiction is a compromise; mostly

Have a good 'un...

I love canopy breaches, adds to the tension of getting the hell out of there and to a hanger... fast!

On that note.. Can you breach an NPC canopy?

Space ship with windows: The window shatters, you can only breath on your reserve, the HUD disappears
Space ship without windows, but with cameras: The cameras is broken, you can still breath fresh air, but you're blind

Are you sure the camera would be a better choice?

With proper life support, you can still end a fight when your canopy is breached. And even if you can't end the fight, at least you can run and still see where you're supercruising/landing. With a broken camera instead, that would be instant game over.

You have only one window. You can have multiple cameras (it's called "redundancy"). Or do you think that our present-age aircrafts have one and only one command pathway to control everything?

pffft...it's not glass....eveyone knows it's transparent aluminum...:)

Bet those micro-astroids smart when they come through that breach...a bug at 60MPH hurts like heck on a motorcycle...
