Gonna get the Fed Corvette soon, any loadout tips?

This is what I use.

The turrets are purely for the special effects. The beams and rails cut through shields like butter, even through SCBs. The SLFs I carry are Condors with MCs and Chaff.

Hardly ever see NPCs use chaff with this loadout, and I've yet to even have to use the SCB, which is why the Fighter Bay is on priority 5 ( I shut off the SCB.) That way I can keep the FSD charged in case of an emergency. MCs last a long time, but the Rails run dry quickly. With the 3.0 changes, I might swap to Plasma Slugs. You can easily hit even Eagles out to 3km by targeting a subsystem (I like Lifesupport since it's more centrally located) and melt them even at that range. By and large, the ship is immune to chaff or target loss effects since it's main armament is fixed. ;)

The nice thing is, you can fire just both Huge beams for a long time before draining the cap which tends to happen a lot since everything runs out of turret/gimble range.

I have a full MC loadout on my Cutter and Anaconda. No comparison, this thing leaves them in the dust. By the time MCs get the shields down 1 ring, I've already busted them with the Vette. All that said, I still prefer my FdL for bounty hunting and CZs since everything runs away. The Vette makes a nice mission runner, component farmer and prolonged CZ ship though.

As for the SLF, my current crew is Deadly and she can solo an Elite Python or lower entirely on her own. FASes are really the only thing that gives her trouble. I've lost count on how many Vipers and Vultures she's soloed.

I've been through various weapon combos, each have their pluses and minuses.

Right now I use 4 rails and 3 MC's.

I may try a 5 rail and 2 MC's after the update. Rails have good range, damage over their size and with a little practice, you can hit the smalls at distance consistently.

It helps that the Corvette is a stable gun platform, one point that isn't mentioned much.

One huge beam

One large pulse

One small pulse.

Stay out in the RES forever. On the rare occasion you feel then need to use the pulse lasers, the WEP will still recharge while firing all of them (with G5 recharge mod).

For RES, and especially CompNavs, there's nothing better.

If a human turns up, run away.

Without getting into too much detail, my main suggestion would be to commit to a purpose and go with it, rather than trying to make it into an "all-rounder".

Forget any thoughts about "Well, I want to have some cargo space, and a passenger cabin, and I want to try and retain a decent jump-range" etc.

If it's for killin' stuff, stick heavy-duty armor on it, along with the biggest possible shield, stick a 2-SLF bay in it, stick a 4A FSI in it, fit at least one SCB, HRP & MRP in it and then, if there's any space left, maybe think about bunging in a cargo rack.

Sure, you can make a Corvette into a "multirole" but, y'know, that's why the Anaconda exists.
The Corvette is for blowin' poop up.

*EDIT*

Oh, and bear in mind that, as from 3.0, you might want to think about finding space for a collector controller and a cargo bay for carrying limpets, purely so you can hoover up mat's while you're blowin' stuff up.

How many times you need that high armor and scb vs npcs? You can face to face any npc in haz res. without it. Even vs 3 elite ships with good flying skills.

Why sacreface multi-role modules when all you need is good shield in RES? In my experience i never lose shield even when i go afk for 5min. After new update shields will be even better!

Hull tank Corvette is useless, i prefer high jump range, cargo, fighter bay rather then HRP, MRP, because i never need them.

In that case, why bother with the Corvette at all?

The Anaconda is always going to be better as a multirole due to it's magic weight and "near enough" weaponry.

That's just factually incorrect. Sorry, but you're wrong. This isn't even a debate. What you just said right there is false.

The class-B FSD has two stats that are better than the class A: integrity and power usage.

It's cool if your reply to this is, "I personally value jump range over those two stats" - that's fine. But you didn't say that. What you said was, "a ratted [sic] modules have better stats" and that's not true.

For what most people use it for, which is range, yes, it does have better stats.
