Got scammed

I just had a white nile moniter mate with a normal moniter, have SIX babies, and have none be white. Wouldn't three of each have made more sense? I know genetics are pretty random, but still...

No. To have a chance at albino babies the normal monitor would need to be carrying the albino gene.

If you breed the albino monitor with one of its babies, you should have a ~50% chance to get an albino from the pairing.

Or you can breed the babies together for a 25% chance at an albino.

It's the same as with my Peafowl. I bred my white female with my completely normal, no albino at all, male. The chances of having any white babies were probably like extremely low because in order to have white babies BOTH parents have to have the Albino/Leucistic gene. SO. Because at least one of the parents were white, my babies were half Albino (they were born normal looking). They basically had half the gene so to speak. SOOOO. Unfortunately to get more white babies bcuz at the time you couldn't trust the market without the white icons...I inbred. I bred the mother with one of the sons. And because the Son was half Albino there was a much higher chance at getting the white babies. And they succeeded in having 4 Albino baba's.:)

So what you can do, if you can't come across another white Nile Monitor on the Market....Inbreed the white parent with the babies....

That's if you're desperate to have them though.
