Graphical glitches/pops

Hello ,

i had a 5700xt and at some point only on elite i start having glitches almost every 5 minutes. its hard to explain what i see but it seems like planets lose their texture for split second and the shadows inside the cockpit flicker for a split sec or they get rotated , maybe the planet get a solid black shadow its very hard to tell i guess the most accurate way i can describe it is like a pop but it feels like the shadows get displaced /rotated just for a split sec.
I got a 6900xt and worked fine, then at some point the game needed to build the shaders again (i think amd catalyst got updated) and those pops/glitches are back. Also the yellow planet orbital lines are not anti aliased correctly so when i move close to planet i see them a fussy then they disappear , when rolling the ship i can find an angle that they will show again.
I had settings to ultra on both video cards i tried playing with the AA samples and the only result was way lower fps.

Does anyone else have that issue ? is there a remedy for this?

Thank you,
Best!

5700xt and 6900xt GPU are more than capable of running ED

6900xt are top of the line AMD gpu's

you could try deleting GpuWorkTable.xml (rename the file for safety) this will force the game to re-evaluate your GPU on startup

if this issue started after an update to your graphics drivers then roll back to the previous version you knew were working, under win10 you will need to disable automatic driver updates otherwise windows will re-install version it insists is the latest

Thank you for your replies.

a fresh GpuWorkTable.xml did not do the trick. curiously new file was 4 kb more .

i dont think its the drivers since i was getting that before too (with 5700xt) , now i have a completely new system with only common part the soundcard. i think the driver update forced the game to rebuild its shaders which give me this weird frame pop every 5~10 mins. i was hoping it was some setting in amd catalyst like image sharpening or antilag or some .NET package thats out of date, am surprised that i couldn't find anyone else having this before.
I've disabled anti lag , set tessellation mode > to application and reset the shaders cache in amd catalyst , 20 mins now, no pop, still bad AA in orbit lines which i assume its a 6900xt issue; worth mentioning this happens only in ED.

driver updates always force the shader cache to re-fresh

for the AA issue; in CCC try turning off or setting AA to application controlled. if that makes no difference turn of AA in game and set in CCC. some games work better with AA set either in game or CCC. IIRC setting in both locations impacts performance not quality and can cause issues.

you may also want to try changing the type of AA your using (FXAA, SMAA etc), some look better than others
