Graphics Card for DK2

My 980 died on me two day's ago, went into panic mode since I can't get a new one shipped out for over a week. Decided to plug in my 670 FTW, was expecting a slide show.. The card runs everything on Max/Ultra except shadows (Med)

Here's the BIG catch - My 980 died whilst I was out exploring, am sure if I tried to dock with this 670 the FPS would tank. I'm sticking to exploring until my new card arrives, still it's good to know the sim and DK2 runs well with such an old card. Performance wise I can't tell the difference out here

no doubt 980ti...but i bet it will be 1500-1600mhz same vram and cudas...

they better do more to justify the TI price though

EDIT
nevermind the 980 ti has been "announced"

same speed, 6gb vram

The vram will be much quicker. 50% more bandwidth. No way I would have waited if its not coming not till cautumn but that will be a hell of a fast card. Iirc dx12 will allow sli of unmatched cards. If so I may stick one in my new PC along with my 980

Titan X is already at 7GHz GDDR5 (providing 336 GB/s bandwidth on a 384-bit bus) which is the fastest production GDDR5 available so there's no way to get 50% more bandwidth from the 980 Ti. It'll be the same card as Titan X with 6GB of VRAM and slightly higher clocks depending on how the 390X performs. The point of the card is to bring a higher level of performance (vs current nvidia cards like the 980) at a much lower price-point than Titan X. If AMD releases the 390X at say $700, then Nvidia can counter with a slightly slower card at $650 and many will lap it up.

The 390X is going to crush everything in bandwidth but the reality of it is, it's not that important. Bandwidth is a limiter on performance, not an increaser, and once you have enough the rest of it is largely wasted.

Sorry to hear about your card. Why did it die? It's such a new card!
Happy to hear you can still run the DK2 though. I'm back in UK tomorrow and so will be playing on my 2nd rig (780ti) for two weeks. Might have to stay out exploring too!

Thanks dude, yeah it sucks. Not sure what happened, if I boot up the machine I see strange artifacts - Green/red over the whole screen, the card is dust free and the system is well ventilated. Tried on a friends machine and it's doing the same thing.

Am on Vacation :/ luckily I brought the old card with me as backup. Back in London in a couple of weeks, Overclockers have been very helpful, a new card will be sent to my UK address.
