Refiling the icebox, half way back from Sag A*:

My first (on this trip) ELW, not giving any further details as it is undiscovered, and I may be a while before I get back.

It's not exotic! May not be glamorous! It's "free mining" (for a living).

Prospector's Little Helper. DR-07; programmed to "retrieve".

Load me up with GOLD (lures interdictors, lolly).

Rearmed and refueled; Asp Explorer Grain Of Sand, thrusters up from docking clamps.

Drawn again to lawless and unpopulated (uncharted and pristine) minerals rich deep space.

Stumbled upon another ELW:

Whoa, looks like very strong jet currents and a really high cliff there.

Let's have a closer look:

Some massive cloud formations too, you can clearly see them having shadows.

Oh yes, the cliffs are massive!

But what's tha strange depression in the sea...?

And a binary ELW (you can just see the outline of the second one in the distance)

Oh hey, this thread exists. XD

This first set is from an outing to the edge of the Witch Head Nebula. Most of these were taken in one particular photogenic system with a spectacular view of the area--I'm especially fond of the third pic, with Barnard's Loop and many of the other nearby nebulae along with the purple haze of Witch Head right next door.

More deep-space exploration shots. In the first one I dropped in on a USS nearly a kylie outside of the Bubble, and found the wreckage of a derelict trader carrying rare artwork. Where the hell he was carrying it way out here, no idea.

These next two were taken in a close-binary system with a third star, a class-K, orbiting both of them. I decided to see if I could land on an asteroid in one of the nearby fields. Turns out you can--sort of. Dropped my gear, touched down, and matched the roid's rotation. Note: if you plan on trying a shot like this, make sure you have shields. It involves a lot of grinding against the rock.

Finally, the next two shots were both taken in the same system--the first a hellish ball of rock and lava with a ring system and an equally-scorched satellite, the latter a fairly cold brown dwarf with a spectacular set of rings thousands of LS from the primary.
