Made some Bounty in my Home System. Stupid random NPC flew into my Lasers. Stupid random NPC got killed by other NPCs. I received a load of Bounty on my Head. Was shot down. Lost all my progress. Was sent to a Prison Colony. Had to rebuy my Ship. Now i am waiting 33 Minutes for my Exploration Ship which i had to order to this System so I can get back. Then I have to cruise back to where I came from. And order my Ship again ... Really?!

Bounty means someone died. That means lots of hits, attributed to your weapon fire. A stray shot in the dark is one thing; it gets you a warning; so you are either using over-powered weapons, or hitting more than you realise.

A lesson learnt; one hopes.

Three rules for RES farming:
No beam lasers.
No Plasma accelerators.
No turrets.

If you stick to those rules, you'll get a lot fewer bounties on you.

I suppose you could add a fourth rule: No fun!

No, you can get a bounty for assault, and they will attack you for it. Had it happen a few times today, also killed three cops by accident. One shotting police eagles with an all-PA fdl is fun. :p I dont care, I just fly somewhere else, hand in the bounties I earned at the broker and kill more stuff wherever I am. I guess I'll have to pay the price on my head at some point but havent done so.

Have a laugh at this:

I just checked out the Thargoid Scouts with my combat Annie, not fitted for Xeno.
It took a few PA hits and some laser frying to kill them quickly.
I took around 8% of hull damage from the caustic bypass.
Already at thid point the 40k credits were not nearly enough to pay the repair bill.
I then overheated to get rid of the caustic goo. Another 2% gone.

I then decided to scoop up some materials. 500 meters away from some weapon parts the screen froze and Elite crashed.

I went back online and of course, all the loot was gone and I was in deep space.

As a surrogate, however, the game generously decided to apply the caustic effect back to my hull and by the time I was fully logged in another 5% were gone.

When I attempted to overheat again the batteries of my controler ran out of power right before I could hit silent running.

I gently choked my Xbox out of power and now I'm here.

I don't even want to see the repair bill.

I see; thanks for the up-date. Hopefully, simple beams and basic Multi-cannons, will still get me a warning. Just in case of course; I mean, I never have such issues of poor bladder control, sorry trigger control.

Ha, well, beams are tricky. Multis are still fine, but as before beams can get you in trouble if you are unlucky in a chaotic environment. So the old adage still stands: dont shoot where you eat. :)

The other guy was funnier because his whining was more pathetic.

You deserved it for annoying our neighbours. You should realise they are only trying to get to the Guardian ruins too. The fact we are in the way is completely irrelevant to them.
