GTX970 or DK2 ?

I got myself a 780 as an upgrde from my old gtx 295 recently.. I have never looked back, the only thing im kicking myself about a lkittle is if I had waited 4 months I could have bought a 980 even cheaper

Go for the 980 my friend its got all the latest hardware support including the DSR stuff which you can use in ED even on the 780 Im using to run on my telly but at a super high resolution 2720x1536

They are not just faster cards the 900 series I mean, they have the latest Maxwell architecture which has added benefits of running cooler (which means also quieter), and using less juice(electricity).

At the moment i'm running GTX480 sli, on water. its starts seriously showing age.
So, having only so much money to spend i must choose - GTX970 or DK2...

Watching people play Elite using dk2 makes me want to get it, but graphics is getting old on my machine...

HELP !!!!

I've just upgraded from a pair of GTX 760's (SLi'd) to a GTX980, half the power load and faster, also I could only run my DK2 with ED settings on Low(dual 760s), I was also using the oversampling trick rendering 2560x1440 and GPU scaling on the DK2 to fit the display, improved image quality a jot. ED is great on the DK2 but a little like being sat too close to a colour CRT monitor

Dk2 is fantastic, but I voted for the GPU... you will need it for the CV1 of the rift when its released.. and trust me, you will want that over the DK2. DK2 is great n all, but the resolution is lacking.

A word of warning : You can`t use the Rift with your SLI setup because of latency issues and one of your graphics cards probably won`t maintain 75 fps!
A lower framerate will make you feel sick.

By the way, the 9xx series has a new SLI mode for VR without the latency if you plan to buy another 970 in the future though.
