Guardian blueprints

I have followed a couple of guides, and have successfully scanned the spherical object at the end. All I get are codex unlocks, which I think I can sell for credits. Is the reward random? As the videos seem to be very specific as to where to go for modules. More specifically I’m looking for the fsd module.
Am I missing an important point?

Pic of what you scanned plz.

Scanning the orb will always give you one of the blueprint fragments (you checked in your data mats area?). Unless you were in open / PG and someone scanned before you.

You can only scan the object once. You can do the same circus again, but it won't yield anything. If it has been scanned you need to ehm... you know, leave the site and come back again (re-log helps as well).

Yes, I’ve found you can only scan once. I just repeated it.

Can’t send screen as on PS4.

I got something like a token.

In my log it say collected relic, then next codex entry discovered.

I’ve looked in my inventory under the data section, and it’s not there. Also, when watching videos, they all have blueprint pop up in top right. I haven’t had that.

Do I have to do anything first. I never scanned the beacon for example.

It's a bit confusing, sry bout that...

Token or totem? Forget the totems, you need a relic, one, those blue ingots that drop from the top of those tall pilons when you shoot them. Charge up the 7 short pilons (they raise from the ground in certain positions when you approach them) by shooting the blue fields. Jump up towards the main application panel where the orb it going to appear, park your SRV on top of the hole in front the main panel and jettison a relic from your SRV's cargo hold. Scan the orb that will appear and you will receive one blue print. After that, relog, rinse, repeat.

You are on a planet - at a surface Guardian Structure yes, not just scanning a Guardian Beacon in space? Otherwise I'm out of ideas.

Worth a chat to other PS4 owners as I thought they could get pics & videos out of the PS4 if they needed.

Edit: nvm, seems like it should have worked - gl!

That’s exayly what I did. I shot the tall tower, collected the relic, and jettisoned it in front of the terminal. Ball comes out, I scan and get a codex entry. No blueprint. That’s on 2 separate systems, both of which are from videos I’ve watched.
If I log off totally, then log back in and repeat, I get a message saying already scanned...or something like that. I get nothing else from scan anyway.
From other posts, I see people logging off and on, repeating puzzle and grinding all module bp’s.
I’ve opened a ticket, so hopefully Frontier can shed some light on this.

One last try - when you say you scan - did you go into the turret, target the ball, and scan with the data link scanner? If you've also bound the Composition Scanner to the same trigger it will finish first (it gives you the Codex data). But you need to keep holding for the Data Link scanner to complete.

Did the ball disappear after you scanned it? If not then the data link scanner did not complete.

Edit: And the 'no scan after a relog' makes me think this is the solution - you only ever get the Codex data from the Composition Scanner once, but you get the Blueprint from the Data Link scanner after every relog.

Just a quick check... You are scanning it with the data link scanner and not the composition scanner aren’t you?

I think that’s it. However, my datalink scanner doesn’t seem to want to scan. I mapped each to primary and secondary respectively.
I’ll give it a go tomorrow, as I was definitely scanning with composition scanner.
Good job all. I very much appreciate your time. You may have saved my sanity. What little I have left.
All I have to do now is stop driving the SRV like a drunk idiot, and all my guardian issues are solved.

Hey all, I left this message in another thread, the one w/the map of the Guardian site, but got no response, thought i'd try again here:

Thanks for the map, I sure could use some help from you pros. I only know about this location because I ran across the "Tutorial: Unlocking the Guardian FSD Booster" by CMDR Exigeous on YouTube. Sure, I want more jump range!

So I've spent at least 3 hrs at the site, I've collected these Guardian mats:

Power cells 60
Power conduit 42
Weapon parts 6
Tech components 18
Wreckage components 15

As well as having 2 relics in my SRV hold, and I've got a bunch of caskets, urns and other stuff laying around the site. I've killed a bunch of sentinels. I've had to refill my SRV tank twice! So obviously I've covered the area pretty well. But I'll be damned if I can find the structure that lights up and raises the 2 towers, like in the vid.

I've tried to get my bearings from the map but, well, I'm really bad at maps anyway, and can't seem to make sense of it. I am now sitting by a small metal structure that has 3 panels, and the middle one pulses w/blue light.

Did I have to get a mission from someone before I came here to get the FSD blueprint? Can anyone help me get to the glory zone? It took me 22 jumps from my home base to get here, I really don't want to give up. Take pity on a hapless explorer.

(on a side note: how in the world did anyone figure out where this planet is and what they needed to do to get the Guardianblueprint in the first place? Is there an in-game explanation or info area to learn this stuff? If I hadn't run across the YouTube vid I never would have known about it)

I'm on Xbox. The location is HD 63154 B 3 A. It's all shown in this vid, but it's not lighting up for me. Maybe I had to visit a particular engineer first?

I had to leave because I quit w/my SRV on the planet, DBX in the sky, and when I logged on again my SRV was kaput. But I'm going back as soon as I can figure this out.

(btw: I finally bought an Anaconda this week, but don't have enough left over to outfit it properly. JUST NEEDED TO TELL SOMEONE!! Pretty damn exciting)
