Guardian Frame Shift Drive Booster

Well, I've had nothing but bad luck and missteps.

1. The first site I went to was for the guardian SLF. I have that blueprint now but that's not what I wanted.

2. I lost another SRV. I have no idea what happened. Just as I was about to jetison the relic to get my blueprint, everything in my SRV shutdown including life support. I was too far from my ship to make it back and I died.

Now I need to New Growth and buy another SRV.

Sounds like you are gathering enough material to write the next definitive guide [up]

Sounds like you ran out of fuel. Use synthesis from the right hand side panel.

Bad luck? I drifted off reading inara and didnt keep an eye when rescooping fuel. I overheated and my cargo door malfunctioned and ejected my ancient keys. Doh!

I had no idea you could run out of fuel in the SRV. Actually, I had no idea you could run out of ammo until these missions. This is the first time I had to synthesize SRV ammo.

Also, I couldn't find any place to land in my ASP explorer. I had to land far away.

Creep up on the site slowly ... with landing gear down, of course .... and land close to one end of the site (either end will do) to help with orientation of driving the SRV in the dark. This is where the DBX scores ... it is smaller, but I have seen an Anaconda land close by also. This is down to your landing technique .... see how the game challenges you to improve?

The links I posted earlier, by MrOriginalB who made the guides, illustrate where best to park. Its tricky but as Lightspeed says, just lower gear and move around till you get the ok.

I've not had a go at these sites yet - just reading this thread as I'm planning to get my FSD booster tonight - but when I did the ancient ruins scanning mission I found that using the external view from a high angle was good for finding a nice landing spot for an Asp-X. Then switch back to the cockpit to get the landing indicator to turn blue.

Just so you know, ignore the ancient caskets and all that other stuff. Theyre not relevent to the module blueprint. Neither do you need to scan the obelisks, follow the guides advice and do that at 48, -48 co-ords ancient ruins. Theres 2 side b side and just scan and log, scan and log. No sentinels.

Thanks, but don't I need those caskets and stuff for Ram Tah (sp?). Can I get 30 mil from him easily?

Not sure. Ive not done the Ram Tah thing myself yet. I'm still working my way through the engineers. Im at The Sarge atm. Gotta mine 50T of bromellite tonight. Deep joy. :/

If the Ram Tah mission(s?) is still active - no. You can sell that ancient junk at the commodities exchange, but Ram Tah only requires you to scan all types of obelisks to get all parts of the Guardian Story(tm).
Previously, you needed the correct mix of junk in your SRV in order to be able to scn those obelisks from the story, but since one of the 3.x updates, that has been changed (Lore: your SRV scanner has received a software upgrade), so now you can scan all obelisks directly. At least I could when I collected the stuff for the modules.

So, it took me 2.5 hours but I went to Pencil Sector EL-Y and replaced my SRV then got the blueprint.

I had a very hard time landing my ASPx even after seeing the map with the suggested landing spot. I had to land somewhere away.

So far, I have two blueprints, one component and one vessel.

What Guardian modules, weapons or ships are really worth getting for someone who only has G5 fsd engineered? I want to hunt Thargoids.

I tried to logoff and back but that didn't reset the Guardian site. I guess I have to fly out and back?

Shard cannons are supposedly THE weapon vs thargs. Guardian fsd and maybe shield boosters are the main gain. SLFs are all fun but thargs target them as they launch. They don’t last long. Good for General pve and some pvp though.
