Guardian Shield, module and hull reinforcements.

Anyone know where the guardian HRP shows up? I've unlocked those, the guardian MRP and SRP, but I can only see the MRP and SRP in outfitting.

Oh - guess I have a bug then, it's just the stock HRPs and the shield ones showing for me - it's gone from the unlock list, so I have definitely unlocked it.

I am confused now...
So the module reinforcement pack does nothing to stop shutdowns or lightning attacks?
I've been in a few fights and had the module packs in and saw little to none difference.
Granted it was only a size 3 but still!
The description is highly misleading

It reduces the HUD glitches, but doesn't protect from the shot down.

I really want a Guardian burst/ pulse laser, and multi-cannon lol. Gimballed, preferably.

That would be nice, but according to the lore, Guardians didn't use lasers much. They excelled at railgun tech and shielding.

Perhaps it helps protect/reduce the effect of the lightning attacks causing your distributor to reboot (once shields are down). That's really annoying.

Damn I think most of us really need it for the swarm/ penetration/ bleed through damage. Hopefully they at least update the shield reinforced module to further lessen the bleed through damage.

Ah did not know that (about the lore). Thanks for the info!

They didnt use lasers much, but they perhaps still had the tech, either way a human guardian hybrid is inevitable. Actual human weapons will still be better for human ships but for Thargoid fighting we're gonna need every edge we can get, especially if we get 7-8 heart Interceptors and bigger ships (or could you imagine a wing of 8 heart Interceptors? that'd be a nightmare to fight).

Might we get more info about this? Is this from personal testing? Got a video perhaps?

I am trialling them at the moment - I have no video for you, but pretty sure Zimms is right about the second bit - if I mis-time the neutraliser, or get caught with an empty SYS capacitor, the shutdown gets me every time with the guardian modules fitted.

As for the bit about reducing HUD glitches - I don't know, I certainly still get the HUD glitches and haven't noticed any reduction in how often I get them, but then again, I haven't measured it.
Whatever effect on the HUD glitches it may have, it is not large enough to be immediately obvious, but you get more module protection, and I have enough power, so they're staying put for the time being.

I think I might have to take that back - I got caught with no SYS cap when the pulse went off, and somehow it missed, I don't know if it is the Guardian module re-inforcements or not, but I have three of them fitted, I definitely didn't get the neutraliser off and I didn't get shut down.

Why would a human/Guardian hybrid be inevitable? Or even desirable? If our laser technology is far more advanced than theirs, what use is their version to us? Especially since lasers are energy weapons with no physical component that hits the target. All of the Guardian-hybrid weapons are so effective against the Thargoids (as well as our AX Weapons) because they all contain the Guardian nanotech that, somehow, is able to bypass Thargoid resistances and damage them badly. Lasers would have no nanotech payload to deliver, so I can't see them being much help. This is all covered in lore archives at Cannon.

Same reason why I have no desire to see us fly a Guardian ship. According to the records Ram Tah has (thanks to players completing his mission), our spaceship technology is far more advanced than theirs was. They only surpassed us in power generation (I'm not sure by how much), shields (implied that they were WAY more advanced/stronger than ours), railgun tech, computer/AI tech, and biotechnology. We're already taking the good stuff from them and putting them into our ships now. [big grin]

Guardian tech could possibly lead to a better/faster completion of the Federation's automated Bulwark project, as the Guardian AI constructs were the ones that drove off the Thargoids for them. However, humanity has already had it's brink-of-extinction event with AIs, the Guardians were wiped out by theirs, so I'm not so confident about this outcome.

Honestly, I'd like to see us make peaceful contact with the surviving Guardian AI constructs. They're probably so advanced at this point, they won't have any interest in us. However, if we're lucky, they still won't like the Thargoids and may help us contain them. Heck, they may have continued fighting them for the last 2 million years, and that's why the Thargoids haven't already depleted all the minerals from the Bubble yet.
