Guess I'm Done?

Uninstalled, Left some groups, moving on from Elite... At least for a while.
No, you can't have my stuff (only because it isn't a feature lol).

Why?

Exhibit A:

Its no secret that the game hasn't lived up to all of its hopes and dreams, but there really isn't any sign that its going to magically turn around either.
So until that changes, I'm going into retirement as a pilot.

Exhibit B:

I've really run out of things to do. The worst thing I did in game was buy and engineer a Cutter. Once you reach the end of the line, there's not much else to do.
I've been to The Center, I've discovered ELW's, I've fought pirates for hours, I've smuggled slaves, I did the pre-3.0 rank grind, I explored Thargoid and Guardian ruins, I've cleared my save twice for kicks, and I fought Ed in a CQC livestream. I even survived CG's to buy an Anaconda in 5 months.
I haven't gone to Beagle Point because I refused to watch that many episodes of Star Trek lol.
I also never combat logged, never used "credit exploits", or "griefed".

So yeah, I think I've earned a break. I'll probably redownload the game later on and do a fresh start.
See you in a few months (years?), I guess?

I rage uninstalled a few days ago because I kept being 4v1'd and told to 'learn to aim' when I was landing every rail shot on my end, but NZ to UK peer to peer instancing is a joke.

Alas I reinstalled yesterday. You'll be back.

Yeah, I'm not even considering this a rage quit.
More like a boredom quit.
I login, find nothing to do, and leave. Might as well force myself to wait a while.

Uninstalling due to repetitive ganking, that's the definition of rage quitting.

I can't count the number of times I've taken a break from the game only to return weeks/months later. If it's not fun right now, then stopping for a while is a sensible thing to do. You may pick it back up someday, or maybe not - as long as you're happy it doesn't matter which.

Having just gotten back from a year and a half break, I share this sentiment.

You and me both Commander, I`v recently took my Conda to Colonia and then to the Centre and realized, that there is no way I`m jumping back, (waiting till they add some sort of autopilot lol) also no reason to because there is nothing left to do. Also taking a brake at this point.

You'll be back. And you will accept the state of Elite Dangerous as it is when you come back, too.

It will never be "Eve-in-cockpits", but it's definitely its own flavor of game. :D

I took a month-long break. Then I played for a few days, visited the guardian ruins, got myself some guardian weapons. I'll likely take another break until something new catches my eye. Nothing wrong with that.

Confession: I've never been ganked.

I even hung around a CG to try and start a fight, but nothing happened.

Maybe your ship didn't seem like a worthy target. A few weeks ago out of a mood I outfitted an iCourier to try to annoy PKers in a CG system, but never got the chance to really do anything interesting. All those vultures (no, not the ship) circling around, sometimes interdicting each other (I followed several wakes to get a look at the action, but everytime the other one just SCd out again), but very few actual traders in Open. No one ever tried to interdict me, I think I wasn't worth the effort.

I never understood the unistall thing, have all these people got tiny HD's or somthing. I have a lot of games and yeah a lot of them are not installed but mainly due to the not playing them since I reinstalled windows last, I dotn even know how much space ED takes. I ve not played since October, and dont think I wiill be back for sometime but not felt the need to uinstall the game.

Maybe when space get tight I might..

Just watched the vid, yeah have to agree with whats his name, overall horizions had its good but so much bad has left me wanting and wondering when or indeed if I will be back.

If that wasn't in VR then I'd start over with a headset instead of moving on. Do that and you'll never leave ;)

Revenge. Duh.

Fair enough OP. I kind of hit the same wall when I got a corvette, a lack of PVE 'endgame' is IMO an issue with ED. I turned to PVP to get round this - I'm rubbish at it and there are many problems (PVP feels like a tacked on afterthought rather than a supported feature) but it makes me log in - just not as much as I used to.

Should've just high waked. Surviving let alone winning 4v1 is not a realistic expectation in this game if your opponents are of any skill. Assuming pretty much everyone PvPs with engitricked ships of course.
