Guest gate question

I'm making an unusual habitat on an island for Lemurs. Guests arrive by boat and land on a raised path platform over the main water then go across a path bridge and a guest gate to walk through the island habitat. I thought that I had read that staff could use guest gates as well so I built my habitat with a guest gate instead of a regular habitat gate but the game won't recognize it as a habitat. The entire barrier is going to be hidden in the terraforming except for the gate. I really don't want to add another gate for the staff because it will require another bridge and will ruin the look I'm going for. Is there any way around this?

No, I think you will have to use the staff gate cause the game has to recognize it as a habitat. You won't be able to put animals in. If I recall correctly I think staff doesn't use the guest gate. I tried that once with a big savannah habitat and it didn't work.

You're right - no staff gate, no habitat. I'll have to find another way. Maybe an underground tunnel, so it won't ruin my design. There is always a way if you try hard enough :)

Just build a staff area under ground in the island with everything they need. Then basically trap your staff there forever, lol!

Yup, I have a few staff areas kinda like that - not underground but tucked away and cut off from the rest of the zoo. I did put in a helicopter pad for them though. I didn't want to feel like a slaver :)
