I took a mission to kill 9 ships in a combat zone and was getting more than 3K bond per kill. It seemed like it was 3K for Sidewinders and went up to 5-8K for larger ships. Came away for 40K+ worth of bonds and still had about 27K to pick up for the mission.

I've heard everyone talk about 3K per ship regardless of size but that's not been my experience. Did they change this recently or did my mission give me more or do you get more for choosing a particular faction?

I think they changed it in version 1.1. I went to a high-intensity CZ yesterday (without a mission, just to support a faction). This is what I found:
Anaconda: 18,000cr
Python: 13,000cr
Asp: 7,000cr
Cobra: 3,000cr (or 5,000 not entirely sure)
Viper: 3,000cr (or 2,000 not entirely sure)
Eagle: 2,000cr

Also the total amount of combat bonds earned seems to be capped at 100,000cr per session. After fighting for a while I noticed that a kill did no longer displayed a message saying "$$$$$ cr awarded". When I looked in the contracts tab it showed a total of exactly 100,000cr.

I want to say with 1.1 they changed the CB Rewards depending on the ship you downed, which seems to go as:

Eagle = 2,000Cr
Cobra = 4,000Cr
Viper = 5,000Cr
Asp = 7,000Cr
Python = 11,000Cr or 13,000Cr, cannot remember since I haven't been to a Conflict Zone as of late.
Anaconda = 18,000Cr

I think the original post needs to be edited.

EDIT: SOMEBODY POSTED JUST AS I DID

Thanks for the info, I have been out exploring so I haven't been to a CZ for a while. I'll update the guide when I get a chance.

I'm really confused about this... In the game, it doesn't seem that you are choosing the faction you want to fight with, but rather the side you want to fight against. There are conflicting sources online and I can't figure out which one is true. Can someone confirm which it is?

There seem to be a few bugs in Combat Bonds and Conflict Zone missions. Today I found that for destroying a CMDR ship in a Conflict Zone (he was on the other side) no Combat Bond is issued (I instantly felt sorry for the CMDR I sent to the insurance office: all in vain).

I took a mission to destroy 8 ships in a Conflict Zone but after 7 ships the ship counter got stuck. I destroyed 5 more ships but the counter stayed at 7. Maybe this was triggered because I jumped to supercruise a few times to bail out of fights with CMDRs working together to get me. Because CMDRs don't count for Combat Bonds (see above) I didn't want to waste time (had only 38 min left for the mission).

In the end the mission timed out and I discarded it. Oddly enough my rep did not go down with the faction that issued the mission (the controlling faction, that was not a party in the Civil War itself BTW) but instead my rep went down with the faction I fought for at the Conflict Zone. Another possibility for the stuck counter could be that during one of my bail outs I landed at a nearby station for repairs and also cashed the Combat Bonds issued so far. I've done missions in Conflict Zones before and they worked fine but in those missions I got the requested number of ships in one go.

Any one seen this?

I edited the original post to reflect the new combat bond amounts.
The list is not yet complete. If anyone has info on bonds for other ship types please post and I will add to OP.

Thanks.

The selected faction is the one you fight for/with.

Hi CMDRS. Ive a slight problem on this answer. I'm currently allied to the home base owners (A) the current civil war is between two minor factions (B) and (c). On entering the conflict zone, switching to (Button4). The menu roster informs me (A) 98% (B) 0% (C) 0%. And only (A and B) are in conflict with each other. My question is? If I join one of the minor factions dose my allied relations become hostile as well as the other minor faction? And more to the point, will I loose credibility with the base owners. In other words "Can I just enter the CZ pick a side and have fun!!!!! And still not have a problem with the current owners? Or do I have to go pick a fight somewhere else?????. Thanks for reading...

I can't answer with confidence but AFAIK when you turn in bonds from a CZ you will get a rep increase with the minor faction you are fighting for, without affecting your rep with the controlling faction with which you are allied.
However rep changes from BB missions in combat zones seem to be bugged and can have some strange results.

Are there any good ways to find areas with conflict zones?

There are a couple of threads on the forums which list active conflict zones but i'm not sure if they are still being updated.

You may just have to check the system view for systems in your local area. From there you can see if any factions are at war. There are plenty of systems out there with conflict zones and with a few minutes searching you should be able to find one.
As willowfan said, also keep an eye on Galnet

It should definitely be noted that the Anacondas in Conflict Zones are a lot easier to kill than the Anaconda you encounter during Assassination missions. The Anacondas in CZs don't seem to pack the same laser turrets that turn your ship into confetti that the assassination Anacondas use.

Cheers.... I havn't included the checkpoint in the guide because TBH I don't understand them. They seem to just contain a few ships belonging to the dominant faction in the system with nothing else really going on. If/when I find out what they are for I will add it to the guide.

I believe the checkpoint serves as a buffer. Ships gather there rather than immediately join the fray and then wait until their numbers go down before joining. Otherwise, the dominant faction could easily win the day because they would far outnumber the others. I noticed that there were two checkpoints for Federation with lots of ships but when I went to the low intensity zone, there were only 8 federation ships. If all of the available ships had joined, it wouldn't have been a fight, it would have been a slaughter. So, maybe the checkpoint is a means of balancing the engagements.

Hey ferris 1st of all nice little guide, but maybe you should/could update the prices on the different ships i CZ since it's now twice as much as you've written, I don't have much experience with CZ actually I have just try it for the first time this weekend and it was fun and we were a wing of 3 people but I did noticed when I got a kill that nether of my 2 wingboddy's hit the price was twice what's in your list..
And you can maybe also add that there is NO reward for killing a Real Cmdr even though he's on the enemy side you just get a blue triangle in the upper right corner where the credit used to be announced....
