Guide to The Bug Killer crash site

This was my first visit to The Bug Killer which is a popular place for farming materials. I recorded my experience as a guide for any other Commanders who may be interested to see what there is at the site. The guide includes info on what there is to collect at the site, and also an example of how NOT to handle an encounter with the locals.

It's in the video, HIP 16613, 1st moon of 1st planet.

To the OP, I don't 'rinse and repeat' anything... not my style. Nice vid though.

The Bug Killer site is kind of redundant these days, although it's still an interesting place to visit, I guess.

Personally, I think it's also one of the biggest missed opportunitis in the game too.
Would've been far more interesting (in terms of reward and gameplay) if the cargo racks yielded, say, 10x what they currently do but the 'goids there were hostile, thus requiring players to work together so that somebody could kite the 'goids away from the ship so that somebody else could sneak in and stock up on mat's.

Of course, with the current paradigm it might be possible to kill the 'goids and then farm the site perpetually for mat's so I'd change things up a bit so a 'goid makes a screeching noise when it's down to it's last heart and that's a call for reinforcements which will arrive after a few minutes.
That way players would be able to swap roles in the quiet period so everybody could get a chance to harvest mat's while others fight the next wave of 'goids.

I have never been graced with the presence of flower ship on a planet surface, hence I may head out there one week end.

Daily reminder that planetary thargoids don't deploy thargons, meaning that killing them is EZ PZ.

Imo, this guide must have a huge "SPOILER" tag on it. While BK is a very known location the personal experience any visiting commander for the first time can receive there is priceless (that exact occasion when I can said - "bravo!" - to FD team). Earlier I have even get an impression that all others signed a hidden treaty to not reveal some details

Agreed. I liked the video, and will visit the site. But I don't do relogging.

Went there myself for the first time the other day. Didn't get a thargoid, a shame as i like saying hello.

Its fun collecting audio logs in the codex.

If you've maxxed out your raws at the Crystalline Shards but are starting to put a dent in your stock, it can be handy for topping up. And you can pick up some Encoded mats while you're at it.

I was just there, spent over an hour gathering stuff and no Thargoids showed up. Oh well, maybe next time.

Did they finally add the Bug Killer logs to the codex? I've been there in the past but the logs didn't go into the codex back then. Guess I'll fly out and give it another shot, because they are some cool logs.

Hmmm.....

Haven't checked but I suspect it'd be more efficient to go to a Geo' POI to collect Raw mat's.
Granted, the site also provides some decent Encoded mat's but... I dunno.
