Guide to The Bug Killer crash site

I went there when I was engineering for my Phantom, so I decided to take the opportunity to do a tourist trip around a lot of known sites in the bubble. I logged off at the Bug Killer site at the end of one session and when I logged on the next day this is what I encountered. Sure there are many faster ways to gather mats, but if you aren't in a hurry why not enjoy the time rather than grinding.

Hmmm.....

Haven't checked but I suspect it'd be more efficient to go to a Geo' POI to collect Raw mat's.
Granted, the site also provides some decent Encoded mat's but... I dunno.
My feeling about using Geo POIs is that they're reliable - no more driving around for half an hour praying for the next drop of Polonium, you will get one or two Needle Crystals - but when you take into account the time spent getting back into your ship, taking off, getting into Orbital Cruise, transiting to the next site, landing, getting into your SRV, starting to look for the next Needle Crystal, well by the time you've done all that it's just not as efficient as it is reliable.

The Bug Killer is much faster - if you want Ruthenium, Tellurium or Antimony. If you want the other four G4s*, the question is can you pick up X times six drops at the Bug Killer in the time it takes you to fly round picking up X drops at POIs?

I've never actually done a competitive timing, so I don't know. I do know the Bug Killer is the lazy man's option.

*Remember Selenium's the odd one out here - it's more common on planets than it is in the Material Traders table, and is found in Crystalline Fragments, so you might think it's more common in POIs - but it shares the CFs with other materials, so that may not be true. Anyway to get it I quite enjoy driving round shooting rocks the old-fashioned way, always (mostly because it's higher G than most high-Selenium bodies, but also because it's a ringed moon) on Shinrarta Dezhra AB 3 g.

Always, however I have taken a liking to the Crystal Shard bio sites, growths on the shards always give the highest level material in the material list for that body, so I now fill up on those and trade down. So currently I have full Antimony, full Tellurium, full Polonium etc. When I hit a mat trader I just trade for all the low level materials and fill up at a crystal shard bio site.

The Crystalline Shard sites are great if you want to max out your Raws from a low level. I made a tour of them last year and did just that. But it's a long way to go for a top-up when the Bug Killer is, relatively speaking, just round the corner.

Here is the Bug Killer map. It is pretty simple. It could also spoil your entertainment of the game.
Are you really sure? Last chance to back out.

I warned you! Exploring the site knowing what to look for where it becomes pretty boring. One of the easier sites. Still you made the call. Knowing what to look for lessens the entertainment experiences of figuring it out own your own. Take care looking at future spoiler maps as it can diminish why you bought the game. It is often more fun figuring them out. But you decide.
