Gurney's TARGET Script for Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS

ok, I don't know where the hyper link is in the message that follows, but this is my second post, if the third is not a thank you to to Gurny then this forum and Thanks Gurney....Oh, I forgot the Captcha...

Great job ................ but I've a problem and need help to solve it.
Currently, for different reasons, I can't use my rudder pedals ; the problem is that if I disconnect these , then no longer recognizes the "gurney03.binds" in Elite ........... ¿ what should I do to fix it ?.
Also , I would also like you to say me how to edit the script to change the location of the command "flight assist off" to a pinkie lever button in the stick ........... and how to get the command "silent running" , in the boat switch button , got in off returning to his position center , instead of having to perform two key presses at the the backward position for the cycle ON - OFF .
Thanks in advance

You will probably need 2 "gurney03.binds". Make a copy of the file, past it into the folder and rename it (for example "gurney03+rudder.binds"). Then remove all your rudder pedal entries from "gurney03.binds", this should make the file recognizable by the game. You can then pick your preset according to your hardware setup.

Many thanks..........i'm a newbie in terms of software Target

It makes sense............I'll try when I can ......... ¿ do you know something about the rest of questions ?

By the way........there , too , an aspect that I would comment with respect to Hotas Warthog , compared to those who don't have pedals ( or can't use them for various reasons ).......¿ What would be for you , the appropriate controls for YAW and Thrust's ?.......with " appropriate " I mean an agile , natural , intuitive.......that management was not forced appointed for each finger having to use them......especially , when it refers to practice flight with flight assist OFF .

Greetings

EDIT : this method doesn't work for me.........I'm afraid I can't or don't know how to edit the file gurney03.binds.
I guess what I need to do is edit the profile in Target ( and change or edit the gurney.binds too ).......... ¿ can you help me and tell me how I've to do , Gurney ?

An idea from a noob that knows very little about using TARGET.

Hi Gurney,

Great work! I got my TM Warthog a few days ago and have yet to set it up but when I do I'll be using your excellent profile.

I have an idea for the Warthog but know nothing about using TARGET. As you seem to know a great deal I thought I'd ask you instead of spending days/weeks figuring it out myself.

I would like to know if it is possible to use the 2 stage trigger to pulse main weapons on the first stage and fire at full capacity on the 2nd stage. That part is easy I can figure that out but here's the tricky part, I would like to be able to increase or decrease the rate of pulsing on the 1st stage trigger buy using the Throttle Friction Control slider. The purpose of this is so I can fire lasers that are configured to not diminish the weapons capacitors and be able to adjust the slider to compensate for different weapons pip settings.

An example:

Weapon pips set to full, I pull the trigger to 1st stage and the weapons pulse, but slowly and do not reduce the weapon capacitor bars. I increase the slider and the weapons pulse faster and I find the sweet spot where the weapons pulse as fast as they can without reducing the capacitors. I would use this type of fire when at extreme range in order to save the full charge until I got closer to the target.

Please let me know what you think, is it possible?

Hi Gurney,

This looks awesome, and I am trying to get it to work with my Warthog & Oculus DK2 - however, Gurney.binds are not working. The log file reads as follows:
There where errors when loading preset file: Gurney.binds
Failed to find semantic: MouseReset
Failed to find semantic: TargetWingman0
Failed to find semantic: TargetWingman1
Failed to find semantic: TargetWingman2
Failed to find semantic: SelectTargetsTarget
Failed to find semantic: WingNavLock
Failed to find semantic: TargetNextRouteSystem
Failed to find semantic: RadarRangeAxis
Failed to find semantic: PhotoCameraToggle
Failed to find semantic: FocusOnTextEntryField
Failed to find semantic: SystemMapOpen
Failed to find semantic: HeadlookIncrement
Failed to find semantic: HeadlookResetOnToggle
Failed to find semantic: HeadlookSensitivity

Is this something I can fix myself, or should I wait for an update from you?

Thanks!

Hey there.
I'm having the same issue here unfortunately.
I had successfully used the same script around a month ago though and have not changed anything since.
I can only assume it's due to the latest update since some of those log entries mention Wings features?

Any help would be very much appreciated as I got on really well with this set up.

Looks like Gurney is AFK, I will have to put my coding head on and see if I can update this to work with the current Elite Dangerous!

If you've added those new definitions to the config against controls you also need to define what key definitions they relate to. I'm assuming there is another file that is included into the main config and this would contain a nnumber of define statements associating those variable names with the actual key binding in game.

Hi !
I must say that im looking foward to try this script out. So far ive installed the files and followed the instructions that you posted, but when starting the game and manovering to controls i just cant seem to find the gunery presets.
for some reason my warthog preset is also gone.

any clues on what im doing wrong here?

It doesn't look like the script has been updated since the Wings Patch. I tried to edit the binds file and put in all of the new commands. This got rid of all of the load errors, but the preset still isn't showing up in game, so I'm guessing that more work needs to be done on the scripting/define side of things. Hopefully Gurney sees this and gives a fix if and when he has the time.

Hey guys, I got my binds files to load properly. What I did was find each section that mentioned the HOTAS in the bind file, and replace it with the corresponding entry in the original custom file. For whatever reason, his .binds file had the Warthog listed in places that my custom file I created didnt have it even though I had set it up the same.

Here, Ill post it here for you guys if anyone needs it still.

This is my .binds file that I am using with PowerPlay right now. I dont have combat rudder pedals or Track IR - so you might have to change some things if you do have them.

Gurney -

apologies as I'm still pretty new to Elite and the Frontier forums - I'm not seeing the attachments? Where can I download your script?

Thanks,

Mike

Having the same issue, though it looks like these scripts aren't fully working with the current version, so I may just end up writing my own if I can't find something good by the time I'm back in-game in a week or two - the Warthog is arriving this week before then.
