Gutamaya shareholders demand medium-sized Imperial vessel

"Boring" and "ugly" are highly subjective, and limiting. There's absolutely no reason *not* to fly two of the best ships in the game. They are as Imperial as you want them to be. Slap some white paint on them if you need to, lol.

"It makes no sense that a super power wouldn't have a dedicated combat vessel of their own."

It makes "no sense" because you're looking at it wrong.

The Feds and Imps *aren't* like the factions in WoW.

A combat fitted Anaconda can serve the Imps admirably. Not one thing wrong with that. So can an FDL, or a Viper.

In case you didn't know, the Feds and Imps have been working together at the highest levels for many years now.

Taking that in context, the rank locked ships from each compliment each other very well, in a phalanx/cavalry kind of way, or hammer and anvil. These tactics are as old as organized combat.

IMPERIAL TIMES: After the announcement of a third medium-sized vessel for the Alliance, the share price in Imperial shipbuilders Gutamaya dropped by 3.2%. Shareholders are rapidly losing patience, and can only watch with envy as Federal and Alliance Commanders blaze a medium-sized trail throughout the galaxy.

"Less Weddings, more Imperial ships!" said one shareholder, "what the heck is going on at Gutamaya? Who thought that the Empire didn't need any medium sized ships?"

When asked, a Gutamaya spokesperson said that "we are very happy with the hardware we provide and the fantastic response we've received from millions of happy buyers. We have no comment to make at this time on any future hardware, medium-sized or otherwise."

When asked about the rumours of an forthcoming medium-sized Imperial Exploration ship, the spokesperson crushed the hopes and dreams of potential buyers with just two words:

Meanwhile, shares in Alliance shipbuilder Lakon rose 10.2% at the end of trading.

Very good my friend! +rep :)

I do agree, The Empire could use some intermediate ships, it's either small (courier and IEagle) or Large( Clipper and cutter) seeing something in between would be nice, preferable multi-role and not combat biased (like all of the fed and alliance ships so far).

When asked about the rumours of an forthcoming medium-sized Imperial Exploration ship, the spokesperson crushed the hopes and dreams of potential buyers with just two words:

As a Gutamaya Ambassador, and President of the Imperial Clipper Friends Association of my sector, I demand to the Imperial authorities and to the CEO of Gutamaya:

- An improved Imperial Clipper mk. II (SLF, more modules, same speed, even being more expensive)

- An Imperial Explorer (a good one) midsize Ship

Thanks in advance

The shipbuilders only do what Frontier makes them do, unfortunately.

I'd pay real world money for a medium pad very capable Anaconda range Imperial Explorer. With a bubble canopy. I don't even care if it has zero hardpoints on it, I'd still buy it day one.

I thought this behemoth was the Imperial Explorer (which should be reimaged as a Carrack with the new nomenclature of Gutamaya Ships)

It's called a Clipper. Mine only jumps 50.6 and it's mildly done for exploration. My first Asp jumped 29 lys and carried nothing.
What do you want? Another joke like the annie?

Clipper with a guardian booster is legit. It also turns. And you can even see out the front of it without feeling like you're in a flying penal colony. Carry on. [up]

Boring as in slow and low agility, where as the courier and clipper are a blast to fly.

I don't see what the factions being like or not like WoW has to with anything. Never played WoW. Yeah you can use miscellaneous ships for the empire but it's not the same.

Both the feds and alliance have combat focused ships while the empire has multiroles primarily with exception to the ieagle.

Ships i own: hauler, dbs, dbx, aspx, vulture, ieagle, courier, courier, chieftain, challenger, fas, fdl, krait, python, orca, beluga, type 10, anaconda, anaconda, corvette, cutter, cutter

Ships i used to own:cobra mk3&4, viper mk3&4, type 6&7&9

Ships i enjoy: courier, clipper

Billions of credits and a few thousand hrs of gameplay later and it comes down to this, I prefer fast, agile, luxury ships and have no interest in the others only still have them for the utility they provide. Am I selfish for wanting another ship sure, maybe don't care. Just want a quick and agile imperial ship with at bare minimum a central large and medium hardpoint for the APA And iHammer. I'll keep begging forever.

It was in previous games. But then the Krait used to be a scrub fighter too. Things change.

I just hit Baron on my Exploration account, and I've got all the modules ready for an ExploraClipper. I plan to fly it out to the Gnosis this weekend.

What I do when (if) I come back to the Bubble remains to be seen...

Aspx is civilian version of the Asp. How about imperial military version being released.

3 engined imperial trader lookalike would be nice too

An Imperial Explorer ship? Count me in!

I have an idea of what it should resemble so here's a design idea, FDEV...

Design imperative: It must have nacelles. It must also have excellent jump range. An ability to fit a lot of equipment (like I can in my Conda).

Kirk out :p

Sorry, but you got that wrong - that's clearly a design for the Federation.

With repsect to imperial ships, ...

... but would probably not fit on a medium pad.

You can have your Gutamaya ship as long as we get something from Zorgon Peterson, the most neglected manufacturer. Hell, I'd even fancy that Saud Kruger FDL.
