Guys (and gals), watch your speed around stations.

I presume the antics of some groups has actually done some good in Open regarding people being careful when docking and undocking, but in Mobius i've been hit at least 3 times this week by CMDRs flying at silly speeds in and out of stations.

Fortunately, i always put 4 pips into shields when docking, and usually flying something with fairly solid shields that can take a hit.

Kudos to those flying big ships who usually announce something like "Cutter docking" or "T9 exiting", but seems to me players in smaller ships throw caution to the wind. To those CMDRs who accidentally rammed me in the last week, just keep in mind, if i'd been flying something squishy, you'd have destroyed my ship and the station would have destroyed you.

Kill your speed, not a CMDR!

Thank you for listening to this announcement.

Greetings CMDR,

I wholeheartedly agree with your announcement! I had nothing to argue with or anything constructive to say because I think you said it all. So here is a GIF of Indiana Jones running away from a Patrick Stuart ball with a cat on top :)

if i am coming in wanted, with illegal cargo avoiding a scan, or smuggling to black market look out. i am coming in HOT.

Sorry for the inconvenience but... it is what it is.

i am not the only commander with such problems. You better to continue to run shields that are strong.

Solid advice for all players. It's the SR shieldless smuggler I usually encounter at speed. His or her ship usually comes out worse than mine.

I almost flattened an Asp in my Python the other day.
He was boosting in, and I was boosting out.
I only took my shield damage, maybe 10%.
He took 43% hull damage. Lol

I got much fines.

Additionally, there have been a lot of intentional station rammers in Open near CGs, who grind their hulls down to 1%, then ram speeding ships to get the station to kill them.
I assume it's funny for them. Lol

It would occasionally help if people kept at least half an eye on the comms panel.

Lost track of the number of Cmdrs flattened by my Cutter when entering/exiting station. And I always (well - almost always :p) Announce "Cutter Incoming", "Cutter Clear" and "Cutter Departing".

Ah well. I'm doing under 100 so it doesn't impact me much.

Aside from wondering what the thud/bump was :)

Agree, I have seen CMDRs boosting in Mobius while get in to the station, if someone have ilegal cargo please, use SILENT RUNNING instead. Now, if you have ilegal cargo and are existing the station, wait until you cross the door and boost! Two days ago I noticed a Python stucked in the door, and other pushing trying to exit!! LOL!

I have a reputation as a clean-flying, non-speeding CMDR that obeys all station laws and...

Heh heh. I'm about the least responsible CMDR at docking you will ever find. I rarely remember to request docking permission, approach using a technique known as "spamming boost", and avoid collisions using a technique known as "WHOOOOA THERE". The majority of my ships never make it through the slot in a straight line, if I make it through on the "green" side this was totally by coincidence, it's not unheard of for me to get ships stuck on the frame outside the slot and the most interactive I am with flight control is ing myself every time someone says "dock correctly or we'll murder you" followed by a fellow Brit announce "don't block landing pads, it's impolite".

My anti-destruction of others extends, in effect, to reactions and evasion. I never hit another CMDR because I instead choose to hit a wall or similar.

Is any of this right? I certainly hope not.

That sounds exactly how I dock.
Only sometimes I make no effort to avoid incoming CMDRs. Or NPCs. :D

It's got me blown up by the station more than once.

I always check the scanner for cmdr's when docking/launching.

Modus Operandi:

A) CMDR's present ---> check speed, fly under the limit

B) Only NPCs ---> Full Out Han Solo Boost Mode

Not long ago, when I was leaving dock I spotted a cmdr in a Conda launching at the same time. At the airlock I slowed down and hugged the floor only to see that cheeky guy XD boost past me, scraping off some paint on my python.

I found it necessary to return the favor in a childish manner right outside. No harm tho. All laughing.
