Had my best ever Tritium trading day , 58000 T

Yesterday , had my best ever Tritium trading day on my Fleet Carrier, 58000 tons traded. we loaded and unloaded her 3 x from 9am to past midnight . I logged off around 11pm with 15k still to sell from the final run and it was empty 9am this morning.

Personally, I only did 1-2 shuttle runs each side of the trade, so maybe a dozen trips at most. My small crew, exact numbers unknown, 3-10 CMDRS , did all the rest, and took the profits.

Had some amazing luck, managed to get into the only large pad buying system, VARPET, twice on the bounce, first attempt, and on the station moon I selected, so we only had an under 20Mm trip to fill up the FC.

My personal cut would have been a minimum of 58m credits yesterday from my 1k cut commission. That helps with the 22m FC weekly upkeep. ;) But I did very little of the work, just moving the FC mainly. Anyway thanks to any folks on here who helped, and bunk on my FC for now, while the save form their own.

Keep Hauling

I'm happy for you and all, but personally I'd have to ask why a big feature, delayed for over 18 months, aimed at CMDRs at the end game phase of ED, has seemingly introduced the "engaging mechanics" of repeated SC flights over and over to load a FC, followed by repeated SC flights over and over to unload a FC...

Personally I just raise an eyebrow and wonder why FC's couldn't have added something just a tad more involved, engaging and challenging for the monitority of CMDRs at this stage in the game...

Again, I'm happy if this floats your boat, but to me, it's just another example of the issues we've had with ED's development for 4-5yrs now...

I'm not opposed to the crazy credits we can make trading Tritium (it's how I chose to fund my fleet carrier, with some help), but I do wish the markets made a little bit more sense. Each day one random system with a large pad is selling Tritium dirt cheap, while all the other markets are buying it at top-dollar. It doesn't feel immersive at all. I would expect Tritium to be cheap near lucrative mining hotspots and expensive where fleet carriers are purchased and administered at the very least. In a perfect simulation, supply and demand would be tracked, which would flip prices. The system where everyone is buying Tritium would dry up quick and the cost would go up, whereas the systems where everyone is dumping Tritium would be the opposite, with numbers tracking how much Tritium is consumed (I just did multiple runs for the sake of fueling my carrier) and how much Tritium is being put into the market by mining.

I really don't understand why ED's markets are so primitive... And no, I don't think BGS states cut it as market indicators.

IANAME IRL FYI

Yes, after I first filled up on cheap tritium and then sold it all to raise cash, I was worried that sanity might suddenly prevail and there would be no more cheap tritium, forcing me to buy it all back at roughly what I sold it for.

I suppose that might still happen. I now have a second Carrier, but that left me with little cash and no tritium. Now filled one, and filling the other. I will have to sell it at some point, but I have promised myself that I will never again sell all my tritium at once and risk being completely without cheap fuel.

All new gameplay is just old gameplay recycled. It's kinda like the goo the machines fed the people in the pods in The Matrix... :eww:

I'm a trader and I've wanted bulk carrier for ages. Satisfies me.

But that's just the use I make of it. You can do something else with it if you want :)

It took me a week to meet my first target, the ability to simply buy an FC. And given that this is more or less the first time I've been back in the bubble for maybe a year and a half, I'm rather enjoying doing a different thing for a bit. I'm not even remotely near being bored. I failed to get interdicted several times, the loop of shame was still a "feature" to actively think about avoiding, and I could practice different ways to fly round planets as quickly as I could.

I'm not going to be doing this for ever, maybe another couple of weeks, and then that'll be that done for good (selling exploration data to UC will pay the upkeep), and I'll be long gone from the bubble once more. The "grind" will be worth it, no worse than working a bunch of overtime to be able to buy a new TV or something.

You'd think, but given the state of the system map there are probably a bunch of others just like that out there, maybe not advertising so much but concentrating on their PG or squadron or whatever.
Certainly seems like it. Lots of the carriers in system are restricted access.

You should see my IRL job, pretty darn repetitive too. I consider MarkyH like an employer, and grateful for the work that is being offered even though it is repetitive. It's not so bad really anyway. The risks I'm taking I wouldn't even consider a few months ago, like flying a cutter shieldless to maximize profits. I'm getting fairly good at negotiating the toaster slot any more. I usually have to pay a few fines for reckless flying almost every cycle though, just kind of part of the job duty anymore.

And those bugg**s that you don't see approaching the slot as you exit. I still fly with a shield but the smallest I can get away with in both the iCutter and T9.

Yeah, I've been flying with night vision on always so I can see them better because I've boosted and hit a few and charged with fine on return dock. It's not easy without shield either because I use advanced docking computer which often under-compensates for the mass of a laden Cutter and smashes me into facilities incurring huge repair fees at times. I resort to doing manual flying on takeoff from dock and also manual flying through the slot and enabling auto-dock after passing through while speeding 100ms over the limit hah

I went the other way. I have a Reinforced 6D Multi-Weave shield generator, with three Resistance Augemnted shield boosters (the fourth slot was a fuel scoop, never bothered to fill it). And an advanced docking computer. Hence "only" 724 t. If I hit something, or get interdicted, I want to survive, and, if appropriate, run away.

Same, I only do shieldless if I think I can get away without getting noticed by pirate because I've had some very close calls but yet to lose my ship. I can't believe how fast that Cutter paid for itself though, just amazing.

Somehow wish we could rep+++++ MarkyH's carrier. Surely, his ship must be well recognized at this point.
Indeed. I've just completed a buy / sell joint run on his carrier and now, sitting on a more healthy 5.34 bn, am pausing with the trading for a short while.

Next stop, Garan Hub in Panoi, to visit the Knights of Karma! Must be all that Tritium I donated.

Just completed a double shift on WOY-3OZ . That was the fastest I've ever seen the carrier being filled up at Gaiman just now. I'll bet there were at least 3 CMDRs with heavy hauler setups working just now, took about one hour! Incredible. Going on lunch break.

The first run I did at LFT 37 was a bit like that. I did the first run myself and when I got back a fair old chunk of cargo was already done so I put the T9 to bed and watched the progress.

Never happened again but that's because I don't have a loading crew yet.

It is, however, great fun to watch.

Likewise LBB-W6Z is also seeking pilots to load and unload, her current location is also available on my post on the INARA BB. My cut is a little larger that that of MarkyH but not by a lot. Currently in LFT 37 close to Onnes Gateway.
