Has something gone wrong with game sharing?

So I just logged in to my secondary gamertag, and for some reason when I try to log into ed it says "new purchase detected" then kicks me back to the title screen! Anyone got any ideas?

I've just logged into my other account and it's working fine. Try turning it on and off again :p

I've now tried:
Restarting the console
Uninstalling/reinstalling horizons
Deleting the save data from the console
Deleting the profile and logging back in
Nothing has made any difference
As soon as I go onto the main menu the message pops up
"New content detected, we are now enabling this content on your console" at which point it kicks me back to the title screen.
The only thing I can think of is that. It's not my home console as that's set to my daughter Xbox so she can use my gold, but I thought as long as my primary GT was signed in it should work

If your daughter's Xbox is set as your home Xbox, then only you can play your games on your console. I game share with my friend and have only ever been able to use my profile to play any game on my Xbox.

No thats isn’t How it works.
The games you digitally own, you can share with others gamer tags on your home console.

Note You cannot designate more than one Xbox as your home Xbox. You can share purchased games and Gold with other users only on your home Xbox.”

I just spent the afternoon setting up a family member for game sharing today. The big issue I found was that all the youtube vids and the Xbox support links have the directions backwards.

You can only gameshare between two Xboxes (Console 1 is your Xbox Console 2 is your friend/family member)
You can only change the home status five times per year on each console. If you go over five times you have to call MS to get it fixed. You can only have your account set to home on ONE Xbox though. Finally figured out the way to do it is:

Lets say your main account is from your Xbox on console 1.

To make game sharing work you have to log into console 2 with your account from console 1, goto settings and change that console to Home Xbox. (Settings > personal > my home Xbox)

Then you have to log onto your Xbox console 1 with the other account and do the same thing. With their account logged in to console 1 set it to home.

Then you log out of both account and log them back into their respective Xboxes and gamesharing is enabled. Basically their Xbox is set to your home Xbox and your Xbox is set to their home Xbox but you still log into your Xbox with your account.

Good to do this with only someone you trust or at the least set the settings on your profile on their Xbox to require the password to change settings or buy anything if they log into it.

I was struggling with this because all the videos say just add their account to your Xbox and set it to home which is wrong because if you do it that way you will have two consoles set to home and you can only have one console set as home so it will log you out of your main account if you log into the other Xbox.

I think I may have figured out what's happened:
I set my daughter's Xbox as my home console so she could share my Xbox live,
My Xbox was then set as my son's friends home console so we could share his digital games library, at some point last month the friend decided he to change his home console, and I hadn't used my secondary gamertag since that had happened.
But really confused me is that other games tell me "the person that purchased this game must be signed in" and as long as that's the case you can still use them, but ed just tells me about additional content

There’s a link above which explains how it works now.....don’t follow YouTube or other sites as this has changed a lot since launch.
