Has there been a mutiny?

I know that I should not say that ... but my bet is that normal communication will be estabilshed with annoucement of Update 11 delay by 3 months (if things are going well). People will be scary to iniitiate bigger storm due a simple fact that any communiction is better as a silence and this whole "game" between producer and customers will continue the same way like it was in last few years :)

Good point.

Hope not though, My carrier is already headed to Ratraii in anticipation of having to purchase a Vista Genomics franchise :)

They busy making trailers for other games... oh who's voice is this...

Oh well, Warhammer and Games Workshop may have been the wrong horse to bet on in these days
Compared to the current mood in the Warhammer 40k community, Elite's Odyssey is a paradise of content, joy and happy feelings. I used to be a huge fan of the Warhammer 40k, but since Games Workshop went full [censored word for mentally challenged] (never go full [censored word for mentally challenged]) and started to viciously attack their own fanbase, I adopted a complete boycott stance on anything with a Games Workshop sticker on it. I haven't even bought a single Horus Heresy book anymore, despite loving that particular book series.

If Arf has been pulled from Elite and moved over to Chaos Gate, that might explain the Coms blackout. The CMs need to be re-organized, new plans need to be made etc.
I somewhat hope that Arf is just "helping out" with Chaos Gate and will return to us eventually. I really, really liked the CM work of the last year and it would be a damn shame to see it go

I think that they are probably very busy with ED (update 11) and possibly other stuff, I don't expect FDev to let them sit on their laurels. Announcements will come when they come.. I don't expect doom, as ED is their flagship and they've sunk a lot of money into it, best to fix it to recover investment.

I don't know if anyone has noticed, they've slowly put more and more into the game. We can fly spaceships for combat, trade, exploration, and fun. We can walk and drive around on planetary surfaces. We have more pretty sunsets with low pressure atmospheric planets. Soon we'll get FC interiors.

To me they've been at it for around 10 years (this time around), just adding more to the game. That's an awesome amount of cool game play features to keep building on, and again I doubt that they'd just dump it into the bin and forget about it. That wouldn't make very much sense at all..

Still just ONE post saying, "sorry we'll be out of touch for a while as we have loads of stuff to do", would IMO been the right thing to do.. But then again not something completely unknown to happen before.. :)

FD's normal stance is to not communicate plans except once or twice a year before major shows. That's how they did it basically up until after Odyssey released and they had to deal with that mess. The heightened comms we got for 2nd half of last year is an aberration in my opinion. Sally does a great job in terms of day to day interaction on the forums, but they do not like to share plans much at all. They'd rather be blamed for lack of comms than wrong comms (ie missed deadlines & features - see Star Citizen for more info). Can't say I blame them, but either way it's not great. Something has to change in the way all this stuff works, between devs abilities to predict & keep to schedule, and expectation management of the community.

I think part of the reason for being uncommunicative and secrecy is that they are a public listed company with attached liabilities to stockholders.. Still it's also most likely the most pragmatic strategy. But on the other hand if one looks at their other published games and compare?

I think he lost it 😇

He's on discord.

Forever in our thoughts.

On the subject of Arthur working with Warhammer Demon hunters, it makes sense if you were aware of his love for all things Xcom.
Demon hunters is an XCOM style clone set in the Warhammer universe.
Hopefully the Devs are picking his brains for feedback on what works and what doesnt so as to make a better game

Having seen the Warhammer trailers, i suspect that some of the Elite crew have been seconded onto supporting that game as it moves closer to launch. As such they are unlikely to have the time to spend undertaking streams for now.
