Suggestion:
Add an Inertia Damping effect to hatch breakers such that when a target's drives are disabled, an attached hatch breaker limpet will apply deceleration to the target.
Purpose:
To allow for reliable theft of larger quantities of goods than is currently possible; Allows piracy to be lucrative with regular cargoes, for pilots of medium and large ships. These ships would potentially be able to steal the entire cargo hold of their target, should they be able to subdue them by destroying their drives, disable any point defense turrets, and avoid retaliation by any escorts or police forces.
Piracy in Elite: Dangerous is an unparalleled activity in video games as a whole. The suggestion I described above was actually 'in' the game around the time CQC released, by way of an odd bug with NPC power priorities - you were able to stop NPC ships entirely and take everything they had. This was some of the most fun I had playing this game, and it would be nice if it were possible again. I caught a Type-9 in an anarchy system once, and lo and behold... he had 400+ t of gold. I was able to take most of it, in an Anaconda. That was great
Thanks for reading.
