Haven't been able to get my SRV out of my Courier for 5 days now.

Well I happen to like that things like that can happen and one has to go to Anarchy, but I guess its matter of taste. But also maybe someone already mentioned it but no reason to avoid CZs, not possible to commit crimes in a conflict zone.

I wouldn't mind if the duration was more reasonable

Put the handbags down, peeps. Play the ball - not the player.

Thanks and apologies, I'll chill a bit. Actually imma log in. See you in the black! o7

When you log out, the BGS's wheel still turn. Offline / online. Docked / in flight. In game menu / in game. Doesn't matter, BGS still runs.

C&P carried out like this would work if the BGS stopped when the player logged out. But it doesn't.
I think the current implementation is a bit bonkers and a bit pants.

I don't entirely disagree. I can understand why the first implementation of the new system is like this - there are opposing hypothetical Edge cases that need to be accounted for. I have faith that it will be reviewed as we all go about playtesting it - which may inpsire tweaks. I'd like to see the implications of offline degredation (at a greatly reduced rate) - say 1 point per 12hrs? perhaps scaled so it only kicks in once notoriety is <5? perhaps offline degradation slowing down over time and related to online time? maybe only affecting a percentage of notoriety... In the greater scheme of things, as sad and compelling as Ash's story may be, it is but a single anecdote within a sea of statistical data Fdev have at their disposal.

he is a murdering "pilot". C&P has delivered brothers, oh yes, let the light of the lord shine down upon this sinner, let justice take the correct path, may the wrath of the righteous be placed upon his bones.

You do the crime, big boy, you do the time.

nuff said.

Yeah I see what happened here, Aashenfox.....you rushed through those last levels of naval training, sold all your ships and bought the mighty war Corvette.

There you were on the bridge, the whole galaxy lay sprawling in front of you. It was yours for the taking.

Power is dangerous, you just weren't ready. You got giddy with the power, overwhelmed and the dark side drew you in.

Who were these insignifant NPC's that you could swat like flies or laugh at as they splatter against your shields.

The anger still wells within you even now. ...We are with you brother, don't be tempted by the dark side ....for that way lays ruin.

Why don't I just hang onto that 'Vette for a little while for you....for your own sake of course. Until your ready.

I'll let you borrow my clean FAS.
😊

Something I just came up with while giving it zero thought: maybe it'd be fun to offer an alternative to the current time: a mission, chained per notoriety. So with ten notoriety you'd have to do ten missions. And given the shady nature of IF it would be dangerous, illegal missions that would run the risk of you gaining more notoriety when caught. That way people who dont mind the timer can keep going like they currently do, but others have an alternative containing gameplay. Using mechanics that already exist, in a way that makes sense in-game and from a game design perspective. And those who do the latter, and invest their energy on doing the 'difficult route' will be rewarded with getting rid of notoriety faster. :)

I like it. Options are always good.

Laughed ( with tears ) all the way through your post. Brilliant.

- failed to get point of thread. You're completely off your rocker if you think getting locked out of services in your own home system for 18 hours of gameplay for shooting up some NPCs who were trying to kill you, is fair and reasonable.

Wait... Basically you committed Crimes that got you upto Notoriety 8 in your home System ?!
Sounds to me like you simply didn't read the Patchnotes, causing you *uhm* to completely miss the point.

PS.
If I was in charge of the C&P Changes, you'd be looking at something far different than freely buzzing the Galaxy for some convenient mere 18 hours and having zero consequences to fear.
Instead, you'd now be strip-mining in a Prison Colony in an E-Grade Hauler until you reach (Notoriety 8) some 128 tons of Bauxite or Rutile. From a Resource Belt 16000Ls away. And be glad you weren't at Notoriety 9 when caught.

They are rather impudent. I mean seriously. :D

Oh jeez are you kidding me? This thread isn't a hard read, parts of it are even funny. The whole thing has been explained. :)

P. S. Anything but mining!!

I like the idea of having to mine something in the detention center but if FDev went that way it wouldn't be no 128 tons.

I did read your explanation. Basically you're kidding me, sorry.
You went "full postal" for no sane reason, that was your decision. /Thread
Next time maybe bug out instead, that tends to work better.

Funny story indeed thou :D

True, either it'd be 1 ton or 1280tons (standard Frontier balancing - always start at the edge of the envelope, then shift to the other edge, then roll dice and RNG somewhere inbeween & ask for feedback) :D
Since many CMDRs liked my idea of permit-locking Criminals inside Prison Colony Systems to perform manual Mining as a Community Service, you can be sure it'll never happen.

I assure you that's not my interpretation of how events unfolded. Anyway, I was a naughty boy, it probably won't happen again, that's by far the most illegal I've ever been. My timing was great, wasn't it? Lol

Yep! As I thought...a clear case of 'Vette head. You have to learn to control that power and use it for the good. There is no shame, many a knight has erred, tempted by the dark side. It is a mighty power to wield, you are just not ready yet. Let us help you.

Now give me your 'Vette!!

I still don't get why Sidey's or whatever would turn on a Corvette/Conda etc just coz they got sprayed. Like OP said - suicide.

So that's just stupid and shouldn't be in the game. Of course OP *could* have left the instance at this point, I often do when aggrieved clean NPC's start attacking. But nonetheless it's daft.

Well I guess that's why they are still in sidewinders.
