Hcs voice packs altering other apps code?

Thanks for posting - interesting reading, i was not aware.
I stopped using Astra after the last update anyway because she started saying "you're welcome" randomly and often.

Wow. That's really troubling news. I have both HCS and GameMusicPacks and love them both.

If true I'll probably just stop using HCS products. I don't want to support that kind of activity at all.

That was my thought a new updates come out today which feels like it might be related but either way if they have done this I won't be using them and makes me question fdev if they continue to support them with covas

Glad I did not buy any HCS products yet, and the only reason is they don't sell them on Steam. The whole thing is as dumb as it can get, everybody knows .NET (and Java) can be decompiled in an instant, and the results are possibly even more legible than the original code. Well, it may be the game industry, but a class name like '<look at the video, the swear filter censors me>' just speaks for itself and should never have passed any serious QA test. Besides, if HCS can't come up with a credible reason why their software contains this beauty, they're bound to face an unfair competition lawsuit on the receiving end, at the very least. Don't know if I should wish them luck.

HCS has just sent email for Astra update

Looks like they got caught and are scrambling to correct the problem

I just got another email for the Verity download

Looks like HCS is cleaning this up

I doubt that there will be any statement from HCS as I'm sure they are sweating already due to publicity and liability concerns. They're not likely to make any statements that could place them in legal jeopardy.

If the latest release is to clean up their mess then that's good, however it's still inexcusable (if true).

The fact that they have not issued a blanket denial is troubling, and suggests that they are in fact guilty here.

It'll be easy to tell - I'm sure those who found the issue will analyse the HCS system after the latest "updates" and be able to see if the offending code has been replaced or removed entirely.

Although it's pretty obvious already isn't it? No statements of any kind, not even a half baked "oops we seem to have written code that unintentionally overwrote GMP's code".

Sure the defenders will say "they were too busy "fixing it" to release a statement", even though they know know people will say !

I hope they go out of business because of this, they deserve to.

Well there's your proof - I just posted a question and asked for comment on thier facebook page and it was deleted within minutes. - I was even nice about it.

Edit - and now I'm locked out of their page.

Good job they have no control over twitter - just a suggestion if anyone wants to comment - https://twitter.com/voicepacks?lang=en

Edit 2 - the new version has been analysed and..... all the code has been removed. - I'd call that proof positive wouldn't you?
