Heading out near Sagittarius A

So I am heading out towards Sag A on a mission. Since it's will be my first time out that far, can anybody tell me if there is anything out that way worth staying for a while??

Depends on what you call "close" to Sag A or on the way. I'd suggest a visit at Colonia if you are already out there.

You can't stay for very long as your mission timer is counting down.
But ofcourse there is alot to discover, e.g. go on the top of the galaxy....i promise you, this is an amazing unique view. Can't remember exactly the distance but it wasn't that much about 2.500 - 3.000 ly.

Your right about the distance between 2.5 & 3 KLy it's not too far in the scheme of things.

Depending on how close you're getting to the core, I'd suggest going to the Great Annihilator. The gravitational lensing is so impressive around it, far more so than the lensing around Sagittarius A*, in my opinion.
