To be honest im probably the least qualified person on here to answer how I did it... I posted my answer to this question on another thread but am happy to do so again...
Most of what I tried on the first router I repeated on the second, so my theory is the the issue was another router behind the first, which was causing the breakdown... Someone alluded to this in another reply to my cry for help. The second router I tried was by another provider and gave me the option of PyNp, which I enabled, without having to configure it. I turned off the router firewall and allowed elite.exe through the pc firewall. I assigned a port number to the pc and set up a virtual server... This wasnt an option on the first router. Lastly someone help me add a couple of lines of code to the appdata.xml file
Cant remember exactly what it was but I posted it on the other thread.
Now I have no idea what ultimately made it work, but there are a lot of knowledgeable people hanging around on the forum and they are all extremely helpful. I am hoping to get access to the alpha forum today, and people have said that is the place you are most likely to find the answers you are looking for.
