Horizons HELP: Cannot destroy defense turret

Hello,

A little bit of help: I am on the planet, trying to retrieve data for the mission, and I want to destroy the turrets killing me... so I killed those flying things, easy, even visible turrets were OK, but there are apparently 2 invisible turrets inside of a building - I can target them, but I can't find a point where my shots do damage. They seem to be in a building, as I see fire coming out of the building, and I circled around, but found nothing else.

Is this a bug or what?

Are you using the SRV?

Without more info I would take out the power generator thus disabling all defensive turrets. There is a tutorial mission showing how to do this. Then maybe these turrets you cannot attack inside a building would be disabled. Probably a bug but completing the mission is the thing for now.

Unless those "invisible turrets" aren't attached to a patrol Viper over your head, you can try finding a power generator (Big, orange and white cylindrical thing) and shooting that instead. It will disable all turrets for 10 minutes or so. Unless they have more than one generator, of course.

Nope, not the Viper. As I was circling around it appeared as out of the building, however: I entered my ASP again, and circled around, and I was able to see a small turret on one side of the building. So I entered the Scarab again, and tried to target and kill it, no go. It wouldn't even target it, and it still seemed as shots came out of the building, rather than the turret.
Is the power generator always in the base or can it also be somewhere else?

They are always within the base. But if destroying it doesn't cut the power, there's more than one.
I can't find any picture of it, at the moment, but you'll recognize it when you see it. Rectangular, partly cylindrical, orange and white, twice as big as the SRV.

Alright, next time I will look better for it. Right now kinda happy that I was able to finish the mission... I somehow managed to hide behind objects, and scan. Also learned those big turrets can really quickly decimate my ASP... brrr.

Yep, they are the same guns the orbital stations have to dispose of loiterers and criminals. No joke.

Go in with dumbfire missiles, take out the generator, then blast all the skimmers. After that you have the place to yourself.
