Help, how do I launch the buggy?

May be I'm particularly dim this morning.

I have landed on a planet surface and have a message on screen
"SHIP SECURED" I understand that
"HOLD O then an up and down arrow RS" what controls are they
"TO LAUNCH"
I also cannot find the controls to launch the buggy?

As Roger said. (You can also use X+dpad down on the default scheme)

The on screen message you mention is telling you to use the right stick up/down (ie vertical thrust) to take off.

I knew it would be something simple.
I must find a planet that is in the sun, the one I'm on is too dark.

Hmmmm. Am on a planet surface....reach the select vehicle, choose scarab, back to deploy, deploy is in red and nowt happens....its probably something simple but I have sat here ages now...having spent ages so I didn't crash land!
Please help. Thanks.

Now I cant land back on the planet I just took off from! 'You need elite dangerous horizons to land here' what?

I just bought that. What the hell?

Thanks Eros, not just me being       n old, thanks Rob, I went for the cheap hanger doodah, suppose that's my error, back to fujin for the proper one. Ta. I'll pick some tea up too. And biscuits, could be a long night!

Oh wow! Three restarts, finally I get a buggy ride! Excellent! Hard work landing on a planet with a ring leesti way. Got interdicted on my journey, 40k bonus as I somehow beat the beggar off. Getting the hang of this now. It's been about four months but well worth the effort. Thanks again to this forum and the game developers too. It all looks so empty yet daunting at first, scratch the surface and there it is. It's massive, complex and not easy. But where's the fun in easy?
