I'm definitely getting a Razer mouse. I'm a heavy Synapse user. I mean I already use one. Razer Abyssus V2.

But I want more buttons.

So there are three mice I could get.

The Razer DeathAdder.

P.S. Don't worry, I won't buy at Scan. Good retailer, great pre-builts, but I know places I can buy peripherals cheaper.

I love Razer mice, as I had a Diamondback that last nearly 9 years.

I went to a Logitech G501 after that, but it's buttons went wonky after less than 2 years. I also found I never used the extra buttons. So I went looking at Razer again and went with the Abyssus 1800. Cheap and simple. If it lasts even half of the time the Diamonback did, I will be happy.

Just pick the one that has the shape you want with the buttons you need. In my experience, it is hard to go wrong with Razer mice.

Ooh!

A bit more reading on the Naga MMO-version, and it turns out the scroll wheel tilts left & right.

Something tells me that would be very useful in Elite.

I think I'm decided.

What other games do you play? The Deathadder has a flawless sensor, while the Naga sensors have baked in flaws. Not a big deal if you're playing the kind of games the Naga was designed for, but for games which involve twitch precision it's pretty important to stick to flawless mice so your muscle memory doesn't end up tied to a specific sensor.

Purely from an Elite point of view the extra buttons would be more useful though.

I have a razer Lachesis mouse on one computer, I constantly mis-click the buttons on the little finger side.
Best mouse in my opinion is this one.

I've had a DeathAdder 2013 for several years now and I love it. I'm not a huge fan of having to have software to make my mouse work, but this happens to fit my hand exceptionally well. The buttons for the thumb are quite well situated and it's held up admirably to many hours of daily use for years now. I even dropped it a few times when I got my sim cockpit (more for the ergonomics, as it fits me better than a general use desk) until I zip tied the cable under the tray short enough to not quite hit the floor.

I'm not a huge fan of excessive buttons, but the 5 - 7 button models do quite well, IME. Too many more than that and you start fat fingering things, requiring a bit too much attention to the mouse than is really warranted.

I dont Have a Naga my self but have looked at it loads of times dont think you will go wrong with one as long as you heve the thumb dexterity to press the buttons

I like my Logitech g602, it's wireless, 500hz, not the best sensor though, got 6 easy to reach and distinguishable buttons (which is important for me). It's good for palm grip, slopes gently and have a thumb rest, usually using with strategy games etc. I don't know how, but batteries on this one (AA) last forever (and it can work with one or two for weight adjustment).

For anything FPS related I bought G203, it's cheap, the sensor is good, it's light, and am really happy with it :) it's basically G pro on a budget, bought it for £35... worth it! why pay more?

Honestly I would probably pick Naga hex v2 moba version... if you really want a razer mouse, because it probably would be easier to press different buttons, but... I've never been a fan of laser sensors...

The MOBA definitely has practicality on its side.

Like I said in my OP, I use Synapse quite a lot.

Having macros through synapse, accessible via the mouse would be great for me.

I use the logitech G502. It also has left and right middle wheel button tilting, but just 10 programmable buttons, although with one a preset mode switch button. It also has five insertable metal weights on the bottom.

After much deliberation, I've decided to go for the DeathAdder.

I'll be picking it up from the shop tomorrow.

I have the one with the 12 buttons on the side, because they make a left-handed model. :)

I have beat the heck out of this thing doing Crysis, FarCry (all versions) and other single-player games without a hitch. Don't use it for ED though.

Well, perhaps predictably, I changed my mind.

A big thing that attracted me to the Naga, more so than the buttons on the side, was the scroll wheel. Let me explain.

On the Naga MMO, the scroll wheel can tilt to the left and right. Very nice, no? My idea was to control roll with this.

Well, I found a mouse that combines the best of the DeathAdder and Naga.

That mouse is the Razer Mamba.

I have decided to order one instead of the DeathAdder. :)

Exactly. That's pretty much the only reason I have mine. I'm not terribly difficult to fit, really, but due to a disability even minor things cause pain, so the right shape is critical.
