Help me get a fix for the fleet carriers (or maybe just mine?)

Hey guys, I'm trying to get an issue fixed related to fleet carriers. Have you all checked your shipyards if you sell ships? Are they all available as they should be? I have the Saud Kruger pack and it's only displaying the Orca for sale while logged into Odyssey. In Horizons you can buy all three. I posted this issue on the tracker in May but it didn't get much attention. I'm hoping other CMDRs on this forum will log in to the issue tracker and help me get this noticed by Fdev. Link to issue on tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/41930

Thank you!

Don't have a carrier so can't reproduce unfortunately, but do people actually buy ships from carriers?

I had haulers and adders available from mine. It was handy when playing in a team, because people could park their large ships on my carrier and then buy a disposable small ship for ground missions.

I only removed them recently because I needed the carrier cargo space. Also, if we get a basic but usable Carrier concourse for disembarking, and Apex to/from carriers, and team respawn on carriers on death instead of the last-visited-station which could be 100+ ly away... then it won't be necessary to sell small ships any more.

People actually install the shipyard? If I had my way I would get rid of the market if I could, but shipyard?

Yep, sure. When I manage to convince one of my daughters or my friends to give Elite another go, their ships are all where I am. No messing about jumping 100+ ly before tackling, well, anything.

There are also a couple of Cmdrs who only play occasionally and they leave their ships on my carrier too. If they log in and I'm online, they can join in quickly.

I have it just so people can store ships on my carrier.

Would prefer a hangar module that just allowed that, no selling of ships, and was cheaper to maintain
I had no idea a shipyard was required for that. ^^ That should be standard issue as far as I'm concerned, additional purchaseable options should just increase storage space. Like with other parts of ED, there should be much, much more incentive to team up with other players.

Originally, you needed a shipyard to store YOUR OWN ships.

Which was completely insane, you owned a carrier, but couldn't store your ships on it... despite it having 16 pads, and therfore at LEAST 16 spaces for ships.

They eventually caved and made it so the owner can store their own ships as though a shipyard is installed - but it's still required for commanders other than the owner to store ships on the carrier.

So basically it's a Hauler. At least they're consistently using false advertising both in and outside of the game.

For me it has been situational.

Did a trip with a friend with my Carrier, installed a shipyard to let him store some of his own ships.

Once the we went back to the bubble, i removed it.

as long as things havent changed, didnt tried since EDO release...

you can install a SY, your friend(s) stores ships and deinstall it again for the joruney.
Friend can't access his ships, but your journey is cheaper as the FC is 5kt lighter.
At destination reinstall a SY to access ships again.

Working as intended I guess ;)

Chuck a few billion my way (3 should do) and I will see if I can replicate the issue for you and confirm it ;)

And while we are talking about fleet carriers, can we PLEASE get a fix for this scenario......

Me: Hey tritium depot, can you fill up with tritium for me and get over here to my location - I'm about 100LYs from you studying this awesome bit of goo on this planet surface!
Tritium Depot Minion: Um sorry Commander - you need to come back to the carrier and do it yourself.
Me: Ok so I am paying you lot over 20 million a week right? And I have to drag myself back there and load fuel myself?
Tritium Depot Minion: Sorry......union rules!
Me: <Bleep!>
===== Later on board =====
Me: Ok I'm here - now what hose do I connect to what?
Tritium Depot Minion: Connect that hose there to the carrier cargo bays which will connect to your ship, then I'll connect the tritium depot hose to your ship too - then we will have it all flowing through your cargo bay. You can use the painfully slow Transfer facility in your Inventory panel to manage how much you want to transfer.
Me: Ok.....so.......I need to transfer the trit to my ship, only for you to unload it again? Why the <Bleep!> don't we get a hose to connect the cargo bay directly to the depot so I don't need to change ships to one with a bigger cargo hold to speed the process up? I can tell you overpaid clowns where to jump to, and do all sorts of fancy stuff through CarrierOS - I can even instruct livery changes, why can't I instruct refuelling?
Tritium Depot Minion: Sorry.....union rules.
Me: You're fired!

I am not overly hopeful - but who knows maybe one day.....

It's insane it was designed that way.

It's -almost- as though they intended for them to be group owned assets, where such a design would make a whole lot more sense...

HMMMMMMM.

While we're on carriers, how about a fix for this situation?

1. Player buys goods from my market.
2. Goods do not appear in cargo hold.
3. Player opens marketplace again*
4. Goods magically appear in cargo hold.

* On the carrier, or when they arrive at their destination.

If i had the opportunity to buy a large ship during the time i was in Colonia, i would have buy one there. Because the Cutter and the Vette are not sold outside of the bubble. So to bring one or two there. ... for those who have the rank.... ;-)!

Ah ok, I thought the shipyard was only required if you wanted to "sell" ships, I mean that's a shipyard right?

Some guy parking his cars in my Car Transport Truck to go across country (no I don't have one, but if I did) doesn't make it a car salesyard!

You need the shipyard to store other cmdrs ships on board, but you don't have to add any ship packs (hence no actual sales unless you want to.)

The ship pack idea is ... not good. If I want to stock 1 cobra, 1 type 10 and a pair of sidewinders I should be able to.

Yep, they really could have split it up...

Yes, the whole packs concept is madness, and I have no idea how anyone thought it was a good design...
