Help please with gathering Interceptor Tissue samples

I clearly am doing something wrong.
I complete a Data ink scan - and loads of items appear on the Radar, and the LHS panel CONTACTS tab shows cargo hatches, escape hatches etc. I can target one of the Cargo hatches and it gets selected. But the TARGET tab at the end of the LHS panel is red (inaccessible).
If I now do a Manifest scan, this goes well and completes and says it has completed
But when I go to the LHS panel, still red TARGET sub menu. So I can't even see how I get to that to have sub-menus....
Is it possible that the cargo bays are empty?
The odd thing is that the CONTACTS shows loads of Power Capacitors and they show up on teh RADAR and they seem to be inside the ship. I had at first assumed these were the cargo. But when I log off and log in again they are always there as soon as I do the Data Link scan - before I do a Manifest scan of a Cargo bay...

You need to scan the cargo bay with the data link scanner first. To be explicit

• scan the ship with the data link scanner
• scan the cargo bay with the data link scanner
• scan the cargo bay with the manifest scanner

Bold bit is the step you're missing. Without that manifest scanner, won't do anything. Without that, you can't chuck a limpet at it either (You have to target the limpet port, which is only revealed by data link scanning the hatch).

Thanks - that really helped. Apparently I have to be within (I think) 300m of the hatch to do a data link scan of it - thought the data link scanner had a larger range.
So I got very very close - I managed to find a Thargoid Probe, and I broke the hatch and on second attempt got the cannister out. But then I set off my collector limpet drone and it just zoomed around for ages not getting the canister.... Then a Thargoid arrived, so I scooted away. Need to find out how to use the collector limpet properly now. Could Seems I only had 1 on board...
Hopefully I will be able to get my Thargoid probe tonight or tomorrow....

So, I have the Thargoid probe, and am now after the Sensor. I am off to HIP 17403, but read some posts from last Summer that the Thargoid ship may have moved onto the side of a very steep slope and be inaccessible. Will see. As a fall-back, does anyone know if Thargoid Sensors can (still) be found in Cargo bays of Mega Ships? Also, I saw a report of a crashed ship found in the bubble at Skegikko - witha sensor - does anyone know if that is still there?

17403 is fine - just watch for it rolling down the hill. Unless they already fixed it, might have been fixed in January, or maybe this beta

I can confirm that it appears fixed - the Thargoid wreck and the two other wrecked ships are all on the base of the crater. on HIP 17403. Thargoid Sensor recovered. First (of likely many) Hyperdictions en route!

For anyone reading this, if you're planning on getting the Probe from a NHS, do yourself a favor and start with the Probe before getting the tissues
